st3c compression
« on: December 26, 2004, 06:42:30 pm »
\"with my laptop s intel graphics card i could enable st3c compression and my fps increased from 3 4 in the plaza to 17 21! the only problem is that some textures become very very dark:|
\"

I read this off another post, can anyone guide me through this process? lol

If u have an intel s graphic card such as 82852 /82855 u could go to your advanced options then opengl and u would find there the option to activate the compression (some textures will become black tough).U could also change ur base memory of the controler to low(yes its faster low than high :P)

i think nvidia/ati cards support it but u will probably need some utility to manualy activate it. u could try to run the game with 16 bit color and adaptive camera:( and u could also try to go to your graphics options and set the slider for best performance

in on vacations with my sister s laptop wich isnt very good at games:P i do have a 6800 with my pc and if i was at home i could be more helpful. If u go to the nvidia options u should find there something like performance settings.. u should have a generic performance slider there.. set it to fast or something:). Also go to http://www.nvidia.com and download the latest drivers (could help).
