Client Version
« on: December 27, 2004, 08:25:14 pm »
If I download the client now, will I have to download the new version when it comes, or will there be a small update? (I have a slow connection)

I\'m guessing he means what happens when they release a new client. If that\'s it, I don\'t think that the updater will work (The Dev Team usually releases a entirely new version of the files, like what happened with Crystal Blue). So I guess you\'ll have to download it all again. Either way, there probably won\'t be a major release until another year.

Yeah so you got plenty of time to get a new connection or find somebody to download it for you ;)

Well... MB to CB was really a big change in the engine (Crystal Space) and involved rendering changes and other huge engine changes. I would guess that from now on things will be done via the updater and that the next major version will be sort of blended into CB. That\'s just my guess, of course.

Although that sounds better to most, devs would probably rather work on final version quetly without rush and blending into CB, while still fixing and updating CB..
