Training
« on: December 28, 2004, 04:31:42 am »
Hi, I have a question - when I select a NPC and type /train or click the train button, and the training window pops up(ex. for harnquist/jefecra), wth do I do? :D

I have 6 progression points so far.

Harnquist has a blank training window with no skills in it.(except sometimes he offers mining, but other times not)

Jefecra offers to train me in....swords, axes, maces & hammers, heavy armor, repair armor, repair weapons.

From this point, what do I actually do? I\'ve asked like 20 or 30 people in-game, and all they say is \"train...\". Perhaps someone could take a screenshot, so I can actually go \"woah, bug - that looks totally different, and my PS is really messed up\" :D

Thanks for the welcome, but I\'m not a newbie. :D I already used search countless times and read all the training threads. Training just doesn\'t work for me - probably another bug - but then again, I\'ve already found lots of bugs. :]

1) Training doesn\'t work for me at all, and according to buddies online, trainers have more skills offered than I can see.

2) My shift-key of my american keyboard doesn\'t work in PS.

3) Auto-Run causes crashes if I go through a zone with it on - which is REALLY a pain since the zone locations aren\'t marked :P

4) If I use the \"display player/NPC labels only when mouse is over\" feature, the game crashes when the labels are removed. This means I have to be VERY careful not to select any dead rats that might vanish, or have my cursor over them, or have my cursor over ANY player when travelling to a new zone.(which again, is REALLY a pain since the zone locations aren\'t marked :P )

5) my Chat box acts really funny - if I type enter to send a message, the box retains keyboard input, contrary to almost all other MMOG\'s I\'ve played. This gets me in piles of problems, since when I try to move with the up arrow, it displays the last message I typed, but then I can\'t actually get rid of the message or deselect the chat box(and yet I can). I\'ve determined this is a rendering problem, since I can type \"/dig iron\" into the chat box, and it will dig iron, but it still displays my last message.

Furthermore, the down arrow doesn\'t get rid of the message. This kind of improper-highlighting and message display causes great confusion about where keyboard input currently is, and to test if I can move I have to press up, so then if the chat-box IS receiving keyboard input, it really messes it up. :D

6) Rats still refuse to attack me, as of today. ?(

Well, figured out the problem, thanks to a guy named \"Terro\" - only cost me 100 trias too. :D

What looks wrong in this screenshot?

Well, if your PS isn\'t bugged, than you\'d be wondering where all the buttons(that are supposed to be on the top) are. Yep, you guessed it, not only my chat box, but also my training window is messed up with rendering problems.

The \"buy skill\" button only appears when I am clicking it. I madly clicked all around the window until I hit something. :D Makes me wonder how many other buttons are up there, though. ?(

Also, was wondering if anyone else\'s textures(other than chars) go pitch-black like this sometimes. It happens at night, and one time I couldn\'t see where ANYTHING other than people were. Was a pain, since if you can\'t see the temple, or street, or buildings, it\'s kinda hard to move around. :D
