I am running on a 1.8 ghz processor with 256 ram . I have a gforce2 also
I am running CB on 16 bit with no sound and only have lag in Hydlaa.
I updated my gforce and am not having lot of problems with the game. So you really dont require a whole upgrade to play. I am pretty happy with my results.
I also upped my paging file to about 1500 max so it will use harddrive as ram. Seems to work out ok.

god.. why do people over evaluate specs?

sheesh if you knew the machine im running with no lag, then a 64bit 3.2ghz isnt no better

my specs run as follows:
AMD Athlon 1700+ runs at 1.46Ghz
512 DDR 2100
Geforce 4 Ti 4200 128 Mb card
this system was $450 at mwave.com and newegg.com

this machine is over 2 years old, runs CB fine... i bet my old computer could run CB just fine and it was about 4 years old 800Mhz Duron with 512 SDRAM, same video card(card is 2 years old)

i get an average of 60fps and a low of 30... why would you need a higher fps? it wouldnt show any difference..

And the settings you\'re running it at? Having to actually turn off sound completely to run without lag is not really a good solution if you ask me :P

Either way, my lag seems to be primarily related to amount of players in my vacinity and the view distance. The plaza for example is a nightmare for me, everytime i turn towards the mountain view [blacksmith side] things get real slow. Things are just groovy outside of town and in dungeon/sewers/buildings.

Me?

AMD Athlon XP 1.8ghz 2200+ ( I may be getting a 64bit in the distant future)
256MB Ram (I am getting 512mb after my 6600GT)
XMicro Geforce 4MX 440 8x ( I am getting a Geforce 6600GT very soon)
56k (I cant get broadband yet)

When I play planeshift 900mb is used in my page file. max 62.5fps, min 0.2fps

There is a lot of lag but it is still playable apart from when I am in the plaza.

I get 62.5fps ALL the time in the dungeon despite of the conditions, it drops to 0.2-10fps when I am in the plaza/around the town.

any suggestions?
