Newupdate: possible sound bug
« on: December 28, 2004, 06:51:44 am »
After the new update i loaded planeshift with my old settings (with sound software on) and it loads well with the intro music, then i tried to enter in the game and it crashed when loading.
After seen another thread i tried to update again my client.Didnt work so i updated my realtek ac97 audio card s drivers and i still couldnt enter. For now the only way i have to load the game is turning sound off(tried direct sound and crashed)

After going to the sewers (with sound off) i reloged, but this time, with software sound on and it didnt crashed. After this load i went back to hyddla and the load went fine then i reloged again and i crashed again(sound on). Conclusion:if anyone is having the same problem as me, try to go to the sewers without sound then relogin with sound.. it may help(note that other places other than hyddla may also work havent tested it yet, my guess is the intro sound of hyddla makes it hard somehow to do the initial client loading)

Do you crash with an exception error when entering the game? If so could you tell me the exception number?
I have the problem that after loading world and GUI i get the exception error and thus cant play - i have tried with sound settings but didnt work. So i am curious if you have about the same error.

Reinstalling helps but i get the same error again if i get disconnected or even if i quit myself in a region like sewer or the magic tower.

The Exception code is: Addr7C343305
