area border highlighting
« on: January 02, 2005, 01:01:06 am »
i think it would be nice if i can see when it will load new area. As some bigger places are loaded longer, and maybe i dont want to leave area, I would like some indication of point where loading of new place will start. Maybe some line on floor or some transparent field or such, so i wouldnt leave area if i dont want to.

A sign or point indicating a load poit of a new zone is a good idea. As for now it seems that the points that  player goes through a loading screen are pretty obvious and unneeded. However when Planeshift goes into further developement and there are large fields perhaps seperated by several load zones, I will be curious to see how the developers tackle it.

There is some form of boundary indication that I picked up. That is the lighting on the textures are different on either side, the one side is darker than the other side. The most noticible brightness change is in the pinnacle rock.
