You just need to run the updater. That worked for me.

Someone mistyped it, I presume. ;)

This is for convenience if you\'re using the client on a server installed on the same machine as the client, for example when testing a server or making maps or testing hacks. \"localhost\" always refers to the machine at which the client is running.

re-running installer doesn't fix the problem (for me)

I\'m also getting the message \"you are not running the  correct version of PlaneShift for this server.\" I uninstalled Planeshift, downloaded the latest installer (PlaneShift_CBV0.3.005.exe), ran it 4 times, rebooted twice. No luck. Any further suggestions?

 thanks, bcreane

The advice was to run the Updater. Did you do this?

You MUST run the updater. Even if this currently is not easy, because of some other problems.

I didn\'t read closely enough. I\'ll try the updater -- that should do it. (I gave up on the updater this afternoon because of the missing library file ....)

 thanks, bcreane

The key to manipulative bargaining is to ask for something twice as big as what you want, then smile and nod when you are talked down to your original wish. You are still young, my apprentice, and have much to learn in the ways of the force. -UtM

The problem with libraries are fixed with the newest update.

WinXP/Win2k:
If you have problem updating - simply uninstall planeshift, run your original installation program (it does not matter which of the 2 you had originally downloaded). Then simply run the updater and it will update all files.

Win98/ME:
Same as above, but further work because you have to download some DLL-files manually (additional to updater when command.com window starts to hang).

BUT: There seems to be a new problem with \"no visible text\" after the new update. If you have this problem, please post you system-specs (example: Win98, GForce2 Ti or WinXP Radeon)... there is already another thread concerning this.

A workaround is to use the old glwin32.dll...

Yeah, I had the same problem tonight. Last night it worked fine. I\'m doing this with a 98SE system since my XP system is underpowered for PS. I run Linux on this puter too but don\'t really want XP on this system.  I also tried the link provided by Monketh but I cant find the name+pwd in the xml file.

So far so good for me. Was playing the old version, and afraid to update because of all the posts on the forums about the update screwing the game, especially for people with radeons. Here are my system specs in case anyone is interested:

Athlon XP 2000+
Radeon 9200SE w/ 4.12 ATI drivers
512mb ram
Windows XP Sp1

Game runs better than before after the update, with sound on this time!
