Is James and the Giant Peach bad for children?
« on: January 02, 2005, 09:02:38 pm »
Apparently, the ALA thinks so.

http://www.ala.org/ala/oif/bannedbooksweek/bbwlinks/100mostfrequently.htm

Most of that page is bull.  According to them, James and the Giant Peach is worse for children than the Anarchist\'s Cookbook.
Night has come.  Will you fall to its blade?

did i meation how much i H A T E conservitives? i would rather have every game i own be over-run with \"punk-sk8r-hoobatankpwns-juulolololo!!11one-dewds\" then have those people run things (and i hate dewds more then the average human can even think of..) America was GREAT best country on earth (both roosavelts teddy and franklin are the flag wavers the true american spirit that has been lost thanks to these people) till the great \"conservitive backlash\" (i thought we drove all the conservitive \"loyalists\" out in the revolutionary war :/.. i coulda swore we did?) but up until about 1960 we did fine with them.. but like the tar in the proverbial cog evertualy we got bogged down.. the machine as america will evetualy break if these people are allowed to continue on such a major scale (i talking right to your hate-filled white affulent butts O\'reily/Limbuagh/Fox /Coulter/Cheney.. i am coming for all of you bwahahahahha!)

\"Save a tree pull up a bush\"

Read the cookbook and learn to resist (we would have had a movement if the generation under us didn\'t go MTV \"punk-sk8r-4n4rchist-h4x0r\" and stopped caring about what happens to anybody but themselves.. come on when the patriot act got passed who the hell resisted?)

Banning books is the first step to \"thought-police\".. and \"tought-police\" ARE conservites, i will see anybody who tries to restrict the knowledge and insight of MY human race burn and rot.... by my own hand if need be >:D

(heheh kind of a rant but i just hated everything that linked stood for.. as it reminded me how much these loonies have taken over :/)

*breaks down laughing*

*realizes these book-banning people are serious*
*sighs*

It ain\'t the books, it\'s who gets the books.  Why can\'t people just be good parents without resorting to legislation?

That is what loses elections.

If they EVER. EVER. EVER. Took away \"I know why the caged bird sings\" I would seriously lose all faith in humanity.

Have you seen what little kids watch on TV things like Beyblade, Transformers, Dragon Ball Z, and junky shows like that well none of them are educational and have nothing to do with real life. I think if people came up with a list of uneducational shows almost all of those Japanese made ones would be one the list!!!!

The Japanese may have invented anime, but we so totally outdid them by making reality TV.  :D :P

PBS! only good station for kid shows, i loved it back in the day...

what popular shows/cartoons can you name that do promote learning...

cartoon network has no educational shows whatsoever... only good part is adult swim... ATHF, family guy and futurama! :)

HEY!!  Some animes are pretty cool (Heavy Metal Alchemist, Inuyasha, etc.).

:P

If someone didn\'t realize it, DO NOT do ANYTHING in the Anarchist\'s Cookbook.

Half the recipes will blow your head off as soon as they\'re mixed, and the other half will blow your head off from a pebble dropping into the mixture.

It would be safer throwing a vial of nitro-glyceren around than doing some of the things in the Anarchist\'s Cookbook.

jeez i dont even remember who out presidents is...oh wait its johno...oh wait he is a prime minister.

see tv really annoys me especially with all this japanese and american shows and whatever else.  so i just dont watch it. i watch a little bit of tv sometimes once in every 2 days.

so the bottom line is i dont listen to media, some political wanker who gets paid to do some speach or some book banners :D.

\"You Flame to the left you flame to the Right.. I am unaffected as i stand in the middle\" -me
;) if i was a liberal i just may have been hurt... also don\'t let other people choose*force* your political sway.. You don\'t have to be conservitive just to not be liberal O.o or did Libertarians, Greens and Independants drop off the face of the earth?

(Independant\'s are really just another flavor of republican but whatever... Why did nader lose it? that man used to own neo-con polluting butt.. Nader, Nader, Nader.. what happened to our green gladiator?:( )

Also did i have a HUUUUUUGE memory lapse or did i never say anything about bible-thumping? OH WAIT! You assumed that part ;) *thats a problem on your end not mine :/* (also a person who assumes  is an ;) )

Religion is a valid form of expression that though i am not a part of it i feel it has every right to exsist (however every religion is just as valid.. a mosque or temple is just as american as a stepled bell-ringing church.. i didn\'t say it your forefathers said it..)

Now all things in moderation people like jerry falwel who think women should not lead a church and that the church should BE government should just move to Iran they already have his dream finished there :D

Also on a note of christianity i find such campains as \"taking the government back for god\" INCREASINGLY hilarious as the government never belonged to a christian god... or any god for that matter (christians aren\'t bad.. but their leaders can be koo-koo some times XD)

(founding fathers stated as much in their treaties with the barbary states after they smacked them upside the bum a few times *the \"from the halls of montazema to the shores of Tripoly\" in the marines songs refer to the first american use of marines and the birth of that corpe after then landed to stop piracy on american ships* in said treaties the nations who harbored the pirates feared america was there to shove religion on them as other europian nation did at that time in history and would only surrender if they where allowed to keep thier ways of life *understandably so* and so america stated \"America is not and never will be a christian or other one religioned state\")

In closing

\"I stand in the middle i shake my fists at both sides\" -somebody not me who i don\'t know the name of

\"The further right you go the further left you end up.. The further left you go the further right you will find yourself\" -i am a dunce and forgot this persons name as well

Ciao! :D
