The best pen&paper ever.

Ok now what Pan & Paper game do you think is the best of all time any type of pen & paper game will do give me ur oppinion and we will see which one comes out on top well my oppinion is D&D, of course, i am starting to become attracted to AD&D a little more than D&D but right now D&D is my favorite dont start thinking D&D is the only one out there because there are more.

D&D is far from the best paper and pencil RPG ever?but it is a classic and it is good, the question of best?really comes down to best at what?

And even then it is hard to qualify.

My favorite system?the Hero System, you can do almost what ever you want with it, similar to Gurps?but in a better way. The only hassle is the GM has to work more to create his world?but once that is done ?it is fun.
 
But there are many bests, coming up with best overall?I can?t really. D&D 2nd ed with skills and powers/spells and magic/ I forgot the third?in the Planescape world?that was one of my favorite campaigns I ever played in and I liked everything about it including the system. But I can?t say it was the best.

I have to agree that my favorite would be second additon too. my friends and i usually make our own campaigns and have never used a premade one. i want to start DMing but need the books. so i anyone knows where i can still get the 2nd editions books i wouldnt mind knowing.

I know im a DM and have been for 2 years on all editions i get all books at a BAM! (books a million). If you do not have a BAM then try to find a gamesworkshop or something like that close by and you can get any of the books you need. They even have the board game if you would like it its $99.99. good luck on finding something. Mainly if you have a big book store in town you can usually find the books there. :]

i didnt know you were a dm bounty, i play d&d too, but our dm is busy so we can only usualy play once a month but it is worth it, when he dmed second edition people used to fight in real life just to get in to his dungeons, my character is a level 8 cleric right now that has almost died 2 times already but because of divine intervention ive escaped it. First were we in an abandoned fortress in a room and a big spider encased me in spider web. One of my team mates shoots a spider and then criticals me for max damage of 18 with a bow. I only had 18 points, then when one of the party memebers is tring to drag me out my other team mate chunks a bottle of extreamly flamable alchole with a lit fuse in it. the bottle explodes and the room is on fire and i take an additional 18 points of damage, my something happened and one of my team mates found a dming error of discription of th room or somthing and i get resurected by my diety. All the experince from that fight was lost and all the party\'s alchole was taken. The second time i almost did was when i set off a trap where a pit of 5x5 foot pit of acid forms in the floor beneath you and i didnt make my reflex save. The i couldnt get out the fricking pit because my dex sucks (i have a 10) well anywas i finaly get out and i need to get into that room so i try to jump across it and i roll a 1....splash back into the acid.  Once a gain i get divine intervention when my friend burns a sacrifice to his god and asks him to help me, i get lifted out the acid with 3 hp and only my weapon left. i lost all my gear and about 5000 gold worth of stuff. So lets see first by fire now by acid next eather lightning or ice and i will have survived all the elementals lol.

ps sorry that was so long but im bored and i bet you dont have anything better to do eather right?
