I got 4 problems!!!!!!!!!

1: When i try to log into CB it says im not on same server.

2:when i try to run updater it says \"your updater version
is newer than the server\'s..\"

3:Every time i open CB i get a error that automatically closes the window and asks if i want to send a report to microsoft.

4:When i try to download the unofficial patch from Planeshift.zareveck.net/updater.zip it says
\"This application has failed to start because LIBCURL.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.\" I re-installed it and it still gives this error.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am also having the same problem, my updater version is newer than the servers, but when I try to log into planeshiftthe world won\'t load. It just started doing this recently.

Hmmm... Do you have Windows XP Service Pack 2 Installed and the latest drivers? --- if you do not, this may fix problem #3....

Use search button to find some of the solutions, if they exist...

Yes. I have xp service pack 2 and all the latest drivers. and it still dont work.

Well extracting the updater patch into the planeshift files located in your program files would allow the patch to work. That would certainly help with at least one of your problems.

OK... Hatchnet... id unzipped the update patch into the folder like u said and it worked. ty for that. The game works now sorta.... it will work all the way to the point where i get to the character creation screen. Then i keep getting a runtime error that closes CB. In my opinion the old version should have stayed out and CB needs much more work coz its the buggiest thing ive ever seen.

Well, how about you post the dump file and exception error in the appropriate threads so that the bug can actually be fixed?
As for your opinion: CB is a beta of a pre-alpha, thus you\'re a tester. Therefore, you are supposed to be experiencing bugs, that\'s the whole point!

In one of moogie posts in the technical difficulties section, moogie has a link to download a patched version of the updater. you must uninstall the game and BEFORE UPDATING you must replace the updater with the patched one. NOW run the updater and the game should work.

Synn: Well I didn\'t have to uninstall my game to get it to work. Are you sure doing this changes anything?

If CB is a beta version than is there a full version of a different planeshift? IM new to this game but definately not new to MMORPG\'s. And another thing. I got CB to work finally but now whenever i try to make a character and i get down to 0 CB points (whatever the hell these are) and it says that my character choices are invalid and its really pissing me off.

@ Moogie: It seems to, from the other posts missing several .DLL files. For me it worked smoothly, but I didn\'t update for some days before, so maybe a more recent update has deleted / moved some DLLs.

@ Shiveron: There is no full version since this is a MMORPG-in-the-making. The previous tech demo, called \"Molecular Blue\" has been discontinued and the server has been replaced by the CB one. PS will never be finished, as it\'ll be constantly evolving, but there will be something that can be called \"full game\" instead of \"tech demo\" in a couple of years I\'d say. In the mean time, the tech demos will become very fancy and more game-like, but it\'ll be a long time until PS is \"install - play game\", including massive amounts of content.

The CP issue is known, as the char creation is constantly worked on. Things do change as you create (happened to me), and there are different sets of CP that are in effect on different pages, so check if every page really lists 0 or above.

Sorry Seytra but they just arn\'t extracting the file to the right place (I know because I had this problem at first)

Alright lisen up people once you dpwnload the zip file open it then extact it into the the planeshift file located in your computers program files other wise it will not have all the adress information it need to run.


With the character generator you just have to play around with it till it works for example when I was creating Faterus I wound up with +150 CP and two mothers.


If you have a corrupt file you will need to delete that file BEFORE you update to have the file replaced with an uncorrupt one.


If you do not know much about computers be like me prepared to learn! (I can not stress how important this is; since finding PS in November my knowledege of computers has almost doubled)

Yeah, I forgot to mention this. In retrospect, I unknowingly assumed this. Thanks for mentioning it.

Indeed. It\'s far from \"install- play game\". But is there a more pleasant way to learn than getting a game to work?

Edit: A very important part of learning computers is to actually read and try to understand every single word that shows up on the screen. In this case, that the error message (point 3 in the original post) doesn\'t ask for the report to be sent to Microtheft (they couldn\'t care less, actually), but to the PS devs, and simply states that Microtheft has (had, actually, it\'s gone now) a page on privacy (I don\'t know what was on it, probably something on memory dumps, that they can contain sensitive info (like passwords and credit card numbers)). :]
