ARE GRAPHICS TOO HARDCORE?

The whole idea of planeshift is to create a virtual world that people can see and interact with others in it.
Graphics are one of or if not the greatest varible in this world.
I have tryed my hardest to use Crystal Blue but as i only have a 1.7gig processor i am unable to, i have been forced to use my brother\'s computer to do so. I understand that developers and players want the best graphics possible but in order to attract more customers you need a better variety.
I am asking for a different client or even a setting on the same client to allow lower quality of graphics. while the planeshift team can stilll work on developing the game to host the best graphics possible they can just have a setting or alter it slightly to get graphics that are easy to process.
My computer is one of the lowest of the low pentium 4\'s but at the moment i can open the client but the game runs at a 10sec delay.
all i can do now is wait while the planeshift team decide weather or not my point is appropreate.
my computer has to open and run the client at 60herts anyway.
please take note of this, i really do understand that u want the most detail possible but is this so much to ask?

Your computer should run the game fine.
Try updating your drivers ;-) I don\'t think PS is the problem.

your computer should run it fine yes, as mine is slower... i think the problem is the lack thereof a video card :)

mines an AMd 1700+ 1.46 Ghz ...slower than yours and i run perfectly it perfectly while IRC and IE is open as well

Eish, I must be missing the awesome graphics somewhere, as all I really seen is simple 3D textures and lighting effects than even the oldest 3D GPU can managed without even feeling it. Currently the GPUs are severly under utilized, no major particle effects or shaders used any where I have been.

As for CPU utilization, my friend\'s PC are basicly falling asleep while playing Planeshift. I guess mine will do the same once I managed to get the Linux installation completed.

I guess something is from with the OS installation, or you have plenty Spyware having a picnic on your PC.

Well I have a 1 Ghz AMD Athlon, with 256 MB Random Acces Memory, and a 128 MB MSI graphics card, and ADSL.

I never ever got any lag and I have it one quite high options,

\'great graphics\' moogies just gonna mess it up again.. :P
though to tell you the truth I fixed all the problems I had
with Planeshift and me and my friend played it for like 20 mins

We tryed getting people to pay us to use the bridge from
hell an we also followed people around, intill they started
to go \"hey... are you following me.. I swear each time I turn around I see you running the other direction..\"

In planeshift we have to make up our own fun, I blame it on
the graphics. I loved all the models and EVERYTHING in CB
it was all fine and smooth and even won awards for how
fast it ran on computers overall and stuff.. but in this version
you guys got so carried away with the graphics I have not
even bothered to get \'into\' the game because of all crazy
graphics that use up 60% of my system resources.
If I wanted something laggy I would run doom.

I dont know what all of you are complaining about.

You never paid anything for PS and you will never pay anything for it.

Why are you complaining about minor issues,

And if you really want to leave, then by all meanings leave, we dont need some guys complaining about that planeshift eats their ressources.

And i cant follow your My Super-computer doesnt run it things. I have a pretty slow computer with not much RAM, and I get laggy once in 5 days.

Damn You all forget one thing this is Pre-Alpha their has to be issues.

Alright, you should be able to play PS just fine with a 1.7.  I\'m running off of a 1.8, and that\'s just fine.

Then again, I\'ve overclocked it to 2100.
