hands down playstation one with final fantasy seven. no game i ever played made me as made with true emotion as when sep killed my girl i mean i was cursing my tv and wierd as it may sound was truely angry.

atari 2600,
simple games that focused on human interaction, I must have played warlords with my friends for well over 30 hours. not counting combat, woot, combat....

compare the hours of play / code line ratio with modern games....

Or muh xbox tough call I am a long time Bungie fan, and Halo 2 is a damn good game (damn trillogies)

The best game i\'ve ever played in a console it was Sonic and Knuckles in Mega Drive II. I still remenber from pass 5 hours in a day with 7 years playing that (i use to abuse on Vacations..) :P
