Hackers Linux Live Cd Tools?
« on: January 06, 2005, 06:30:55 am »
What tools would you put on a hackers/security live cd, I plan on remastering slax for it, and using it to check security holes on mine and friends computers (for a small fee of course :D) I will set up a site and a free download for it when it is done. I think I might do a slax version of knoppix-std as the first version (it would be a new version, because slax is slackware based, and knoppix std is knoppic based, therefore I couldn\'t just remaster it. ) Also, please linux programs only.

Note: Mods, if you feel this is an inapropriate topic, feel free to delete it.

http://www.phlak.org

Download PHLAK, and burn it on a CD.  It\'s actually a full Linux build, completely free, and is VERY good for security.

Alright, I used to have soooooo many tools.

Now, the tools I\'m going to list here CAN be used for hacking, but are DESIGNED as security purposes:

Cain and Abel - http://www.oxid.it/cain.html -- VERY good program.  I know it can find Windows passes... not sure about Linux, but you could try it.

AWSPS - Can\'t remember where to find it exactly, but search for AWSPS on Google, and you\'ll find it.  Very good proggie.

I got a few more somewhere... I\'ll find em later.

Thanks, and cool. It doesn\'t need to crack linux passwords, it just needs to run on linux, that is what I meant by \"linux hacking tools.\"

Very good forums, got some smart guys there.  It\'ll pay for you to check it out.

http://www.hackology.com/index.shtml
^^^
This site is more geared towards hackers, but has some sweet security programs.

http://www.majorgeeks.com
^^^
A lot of good files there.  Not 100% sure they have security-specific files, but they might.

http://www.warindustries.com/
^^^
Some VERY sweet programs there.  You have to register on their forums to get at the proggies, but it\'s free and is a SMALL gripe for how good this site is.

BEST.SECURITY.SITE.EVAR.  Requires a bit of searching, but is a SWEET site.

Well, have fun!

Hmm... I\'m not 100% sure if they do.  Methinks they do.

^_^

On Astalavista, just include Linux in the search.
