GMT -8 (also known as US Pacific Standard time).

EDIT: For those that have been wondering about vfs.cfg, I\'ve posted the file on my server. Check out the Guide to Running Planeshift on Mac OS X for the link.

Thanks for posting the file, but still I\'m not getting any further. Positive thing is I CAN now run the whole lot from the Terminal but it won\'t prevent the game from crashing (although on a later moment... so it\'s all in progress :))

Am I doing something completely wrong or isn\'t my notebook not fit... I tried everything mentioned in the topic. This is the crashreport:

Date/Time:      2005-02-10 00:46:49 +0100
OS Version:     10.3.7 (Build 7S215)
Report Version: 2

Command: psclient
Path:    /Users/caramelelfje/Desktop/Games/PlaneShift 3D/psclient.app/Contents/MacOS/psclient
Version: 0.1 (0)
PID:     829
Thread:  Unknown

Link (dyld) error:

dyld: /Users/caramelelfje/Desktop/Games/PlaneShift 3D/psclient.app/Contents/MacOS/psclient can\'t open library: /sw/lib/libpng12.0.dylib  (No such file or directory, errno = 2)

does this all mean I still have to copy the libpng12.0 file in the sw dir?if so... where do I have to place this sw-dir ?

NOTE: Chaos you talk about dragging the MacOS folder from the psclient.app directory. Point is, In my PSfolder I only have the usual psclient directory ... No \".app\" addition... maybe it\'s this?

You\'ve done everything right. It appears that the libpng problem is not yet fixed. You\'ll have to wait for dfryer to take a look at it, it shouldn\'t take long. Meanwhile, I\'ll amend my guide to add back in step 6... Take a look there in 10 mins.

It has to be directly on your HD. i.e. Macintosh HD:sw

thanks for your help! :)

one problem though..... the buttons for creating a new account aren\'t there... but that\'s probably cause I have to do that on the main site... *ouch*

Hrmm... did you have to move libcal3D.11.dylib too? (try running psclient without that one in the /usr/lib directory). I\'m running it fine on my comp without it...

I have neither the libcal3D.10.dylib or the libcal3D.11.dylib in the /usr/local/lib folder and I\'m running okay.  But I did have to move the libpng.12 dkfldfdlfa file thingy.

It\'s really a big change from the last time I was on, which was before the great Mac outage of 2005.  :)  Its nice seeing the command buttons at the top of the screen.  It great to be able to see too although there are still some dark areas.  But over all, I like the new version and looking forward to more.

Update and try it again. It shouldn\'t any more.

I went through most of the whole shishkabob of stuff your thread said to do.

i don\'t get an error for the sw thingy (which i haven\'t done by the way)
but rather this:

Crystal Space for MacOS/X 0.99 r0 [MacOS/X-powerpc-GCC]
Ported to MacOS/X by Eric Sunshine

WARNING: could not load plugin \'crystalspace.kernel.vfs\'
Couldn\'t load VFS plugin \"crystalspace.kernel.vfs\"!
ERROR: csInitializer::SetupConfigManager failed!
Is your CRYSTAL environment variable set?

now i\'m back to this point again. the vfs.cfg has been updated.
so what is the problem? (this error line seem familiar somehow, but i think it springs from a different problem.....) i also cannot send an error log, as for some reason the log doesn\'t update like it is supposed to.

That\'s almost definitely a problem with the vfs.cfg file. Try downloading it from the link in my guide again and make sure that you completely overwrite the previous vfs.cfg file.

I had the same problem.  Found out I was saving as plain text.  When I saved it as \"plain text with encoding\" it worked.

Just my 2 cents.  :)

i just updated. your updater doesnt overwrite the vfs file so it stayed corrected. thats good. but libcal3d.11.dylib and libpng12.0.dylib still need to be in usr/local/lib for it to work.

That\'s odd. Maybe typing those console commands makes it work?
