I\'ve been having trouble getting into the game recently (i.e. unexpected quit after the loading plaza screen). This has been happening since 10.3.8 (no dump to console, either, btw). Anyone else having this issue?

That is quite strange, I installed 10.3.8, and I\'ve had no problems at all, cept lag, which isn\'t a change from before.  Although yesterday, I\'m not sure if a similar thing happened, I was in the plaza after coming out of the sewers and after I actually arrived at the plaza, I got fed up with the lag so hit Q, after about a minute or so, it just quit without the ordinary dialog coming up, apart from that, everything\'s been fine.  Have you installed any other new software/extensions/hardware etc.?
Is it just me or when you go into a new area and it goes to the loading scree, does it always say Loading Hydlaa Plaza, whether or not that is where you are going?
Buddha, do you know if anyone has set up an Mac specific guild, and if you do, do you know the URL of their site?
Thanks,
aircon

Noone seemed to respond to the Mac Guild idea.  I\'m not sure it was a good one, but I put it out there.

I haven\'t moved forward on it, nor do I know anyone who has.  If something gets set up, I may be interested.

I am going to roll the dice and install 10.3.8 and see if PS stops working.  I\'ll update when I\'m done.

GamerNick: The \"/dig gold\" turning into \"fear /dig gold\" has been discussed elsewhere on the forums (it\'s not a mac specific bug).. I don\'t know what the solution is but have a look around

People with 10.3.8: if there are any repeatable problems, let me know.  I\'m on 10.2.8 so I can\'t test locally.

buddha:  Personally I think the idea of a \"mac guild\" seems to be in conflict with the idea of an in-game guild (i.e. an organisation that aims to promote its own business interests)  Not that everyone currently in PlaneShift sticks to character, but it would be nice if we could promote an ideal separation between IC and OOC realities.

I updated to 10.3.8 and I\'ve updated PS.  I\'m not having any problems at all.

Dfryer: you\'re probably right.  But I encourage people to find me in game, I like making friends.  I play Mulla.

What exactly is the purpose of a Guild? World Domination? Helpin \'lil old ladies across a street? Manning the Library?  I\'ve taken a look at a few of the guilds and I can\'t really find the answer to my question?  What do the people do whilst in the Guild? Do the go around doing things together, training with each other?
When and if a Mac specific one arrises, I think I would probably join, though it would depend on the purpose of the particular guild.  Perhaps someone who knows how to make a Guild could jet off to the guild forum, along with the rest of us Apple-users, to discuss together what the \"purpose\" (for want of better phrase) of the Guild would be, then it\'d be a Guild more specified to the wants and wishes of its members...which could be interesting... just a suggestion, \'cos I have no idea where to start.  If a mod could make a Mac forum for us that\'d be cool, I think someone else suggested that near the begining of this thread.
Just my tuppence

dfryer:  My thoughts of a Mac Guild were not so much as to stop the things you mentioned happening, merely a Guild that contains only Mac users, but does the ordinary Guild stuff, and as we pretty much have made a mini-community here already it\'d just make sense to continue it in-game.

>I\'m on 10.2.8

Really? You should really upgrade to Panther (better OGL implementation, better Core Audio performances, better Finder multi-threading, more mature networking ...).

Hi there!

i\'m a new PlaneShift player :-)
I never logged in for the moment BUT, i created an installation package for the one who do not want to become an unix guru, Mac spirit is so simple...

The installer only does what is here:
http://planeshift.oodlz.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=14416&boardid=33&styleid=3
(A Guide to Running Planeshift on Mac OS X, posted by chaOs).

No more, no less.

So if someone want a simple double click installation, give me one user to test again and a webspace about 230MB to store the file.
It contains a pre-installed and updated PlaneShift from.. today.

Does anyone is interested?

Be carefull, not official at all, only to try to help...

Bye

Create button

hi,

to follow my previous post, the game is updated and launched, but i can\'t create a new character because... there is no create button.
Only name, pass, quit and connect button.
(not a disabled create button, no button create at all!)

Does it mean that no new players are allowed?

Thanks for answer

Akraig.

Thanks!
I missed the first line of text...
This should be more visible or in the documentation isn\'t it?

Well excuse my lack of \"vision\" ;-)

I\'m a new player on Planeshift for Mac, and I\'ve been at this for a while.  I\'m on step 6 of chaOs\'s guide, but it refuses to recognize the otool command in Terminal.  I followed the directions if it didn\'t work in the first place, but it still doesn\'t work!

Read the second paragraph there. If the command is not found, just do what the second paragraph says.

I did.  And it still didn\'t work.

EDIT:  And is there supposed to be another folder in there named audio?

Make sure you move libcal3d.11.dylib, NOT libcal3d.10.dylib.

I made sure, it\'s libcal3d.11.dylib.  I\'ve gone through everything twice, and it still doesn\'t work.
