To the best of my knowledge, the *current* version shouldn\'t even require it, I\'m wondering if wrong versions of files ended up in the updater.  For instance, I can wipe out libcal3d.* from /usr/local/lib and run fine.  Perhaps part of the problem is that the distribution downloadable from the website is *really* old, and that could be part of the problem. This time I will post a completely new \"complete\" distribution, as well as a version in the updater.  When this happens, I\'d appreciate it if people tried it first without rearranging files (or with any rearranged files removed beforehand!)

I finally open PS !!  but have some problems ....maybe someone could advice me in somehow ...

Ok ... firstly .. I got into the game but I have some problems in doing my carachter ... that I cant give him a job or put skills .... because didn\'t show in his creation the skills that I can give to him or the jobs...
is that normal ??

And one more thing..... when I\'m in  the server uploading the hyplaa Plaza ... i waited more or less 40 minutes and nothings happens ... it was uploading but didn\'t  finish ... very estrange ..... I went to see if the server was down but it wasn\'t ..... I don\'t know what to do

I thought in your last post that I needed  to do a update in PS  with the real updater from the game after   yours ( update tool) ... but when i will update this aplication didn\'t respond .... can I update Planeshift in the \"terminal\"? Can someone help me how I can update by the TErminal?

thanx CHAOS and  Dfryer  for all your hard work for Mac users ... but I\'m still trying to play ...maybe one day when the problems were over  We can go to a tavern and be happy for a while  heuhuehuehe

thanks daniel your hard work is appreciated. i hate to think that your working so hard and then theyre going to wipe the whole thing and youll have to do it all over again. but until then i cant wait for the new version so i can start playing again.

My updater should be able to update PS the same as the normal one. However, right now the Mac version isn\'t current so it won\'t work correctly now. I suggest you just sit tight until dfryer posts a new complete distro to the download site.

OK... I\'ve downloaded the last update but the client (5 mins ago) don\'t even opens...
Previously I\'ve been able to reach the login screen but got the server-client version error so I waited for the new update.
Any suggestion?

Well having updated and made all the various alterations, my PS client is now version 7, and logs me on to the server no problems.
Unfortunately it quits when Hydlaa is nearly loaded.

Ive got a feeling this might be a VFS.cfg problem - Chaos\'s links to the correct vfs both say they are broken, does anyone have a working one?

Edit:
just tried to run it through terminal and it returns the crystal enviroment error:-

WARNING: could not load plugin \'crystalspace.kernel.vfs\'
Couldn\'t load VFS plugin \"crystalspace.kernel.vfs\"!
ERROR: csInitializer::SetupConfigManager failed!
Is your CRYSTAL environment variable set?

- and doesnt even start up.

Well, I re-ran chaOs\' updater, re-did everything in the guide, and I got in (it says 3.007)!!! Unfortunately, like with Mathious, it quit unexpectedly halfway through loading Hydlaa plaza. Well, I\'ll just sit tight and wait for dfryer\'s new complete distro. Hopefully not too long, but thanks again dfryer, you work so hard for us mac users...

Forgot to post this last week, not so much as an error report, more to laugh at really.
My client became stuck between two areas and I could hear everything that was going on around me, also my chat etc was working fine - I can only assume that other players might have even seen me walking around blind......take a look here http://www.geocities.com/ronnieronson/storage/weird.jpg

i have juste download the new update
i open ps, i open my account,select new caracter.
and the race:Xacha  ylians  Nolthrir  Demorians
bot when i select stonebreaker or the other race,my ps crash like it quit for no reason
can someone help me

I seem to have the same error, but my log looks a bit different. thought i post it here, maybe it helps finding the bug, wherever it is.

I\'ve installed CB like it\'s sayed.
I can run CB, log in create a character but after, when CB load Hyplaa Plaza it quit inopinately...

Sorry if i speak bad english but i\'m only 14 years old and i\'m french (f*ckin\' french always problem :P )

Seems like there may be a few problems related to XML syntax and/or network code changes.  I\'ll hopefully be able to look at these soon!

And yes, new mac binaries were uploaded ~12 hours ago, but not a complete distro.

EDIT:

Seems like other people (non Mac users) are also having this problem, may be a problem in CVS or the updater.

so there is no way to get it to work right now? I did that thing where you move the files to the lib folder but it made no difference. It\'s not that I\'m deaf, I just want to know if ANYONE on a mac is using it and it is working through some kind of magical file editing.
