Hehehe

Yeah, just waiting for the new client, sound like you are as far as anyone can get, though I think the updater.app can be run by typing \"cd /\" then dragging the MacOS folder inside the updater contents to the terminal. Press enter. Then type \"chmod 755 updater\" It should run, at least it does for me, but the client still won\'t work.

Anyways, hope to see you in Yliakum soon,

So from wut i understood is that it just doesnt work.
When dryfer (tnk god for him) finishes compiling the new BUG - free client, download mirrors and torrents will be added and all will be fine.
We just have to be patient.

(correct me if im wrong)

Yes, thank god (gods, spirits, fate or just lucky stars...depending on what you believe in) for him, hopefully he\'s still working on it. Bug free, probably not. Download mirrors and Bit-torrent? I have no idea...I\'ll be happy with a client even if it takes ten hours to download.

And yes, what mommy said...Patience is a Virtue

Best time estimate I can give would be mid-april, since I have a brief respite from school then, although I will be doing other things (like visiting family).  Sorry I\'ve been so busy lately - I really would like to see a working version of Planeshift on my computer too!

Thanks,
Daniel

No more Mac installer
« Reply #577 on: April 07, 2005, 11:46:37 pm »
So I just tried to download the Mac OS X installer for PlaneShift and it turns out the installer is not at the link provided.

Perhaps the web master would consider removing the link and replacing it with a \"real soon now\" message?

Thanks fellows!

On an unplaneshift - but distinctly apple related note, perhaps some of you kind souls out there would consider checking this out and helping me along?

http://www.freeipoduk.co.uk/index.php?REFID=90933

It does work - I signed up cos my friend needed one more person, Thought I\'d prove him wrong - felt pretty silly when his shiny blue ipod turned up a couple of weeks back.

So now im trying to get as much support as possible for this, im only four people short off my free ipod now :D

Oh and by the way - Dfryer - managed to access the cvs\'s again since my ibook was swopped out - gonna have a crack at a rebuild this weekend, so ile let you know how things progress :D

It should run fine. I\'m on a 667 TiBook and it\'s pretty good. Only thing is that the framerates in the plaza are terrible (less than 1 fps, at times). If you stay out of the plaza you should be alright.

I have the same computer as ChaOs: 667mhz Titanium, 512 ram, 32mb video card. Worked fine, though a little slow.

\"Final product\" if you mean when planeshift is finished...well, it\'s an alpha tech demo, don\'t expect a final product until maybe 5 *cough cough* years??? I have no idea. And \"by then I predict computers will be ten times as powerful, one hundred times as large and soooo expensive...that only the five richest kings in Europe will own them. Zoiblen flaven!\" Hehehe, I love the Simpsons. If however you mean \"final product\" as dfryer\'s newly compiled client, should work. Hopefully it\'ll run on 10.2.8 as I\'m not upgrading until Tiger.

Hope to see you in Yliakum.

Hello,

I\'m using Mac OS X (latest version) and I\'ve installed Planeshift \"PlaneShift_CBV0.3.005_mac.dmg\".  After copiing the game to my applications folder, I made the changes to be able to run the game.  I copied the file to /usr/local/lib so the game works now.

But when i want to join the server, it says i have an old version of the game, and the server demands the use of a newer version.

I\'ve tried the updater, but it doesn\'t seem to work...

Can anyone help me please?  I really would like to play the game.

Thx alot!
Lieven

Lieven, please and look at other threads before posting a question. Most of them have already been addressed several times (including this one). The short answer is that there is no current working Mac build. If you want the long answer... or just read some of the other posts in this thread or in the threads on the Mac OS X forum (bottom of the forum list).

P.S. Welcome to Planeshift!
