Whoa, no need to be rude. Remember, dfryer is not getting paid for what he is doing, and you are not paying anything at all. We are all lucky that planeshift is even for the mac. He\'s doing the best he can and it will be up soon.

Please, be kind, considerate and above all grateful.

We love you dfryer!!!

New download up, no sound, updater probably broken (and should be avoided until I tell you otherwise)

Check the Mac OS/X section for more details..

Thanks,
Daniel

It\'s not the game. I\'m running on a powermac 2x1.8 and it runs smooth. FPS 30-40 at the plaza, and other places way over 100 even 140. It could be your graphic card. I run in full screen 1280x1024, mills of col - no problem.

Since the forums are full of complaints of extremely low fps in the plaza, i suggest that GMs try to add some type of fog option so that all the 3d buildings etc are not visible at once.

Of course, I am not familiar with 3 dimensional programing at all so I am not sure excactly how difficult that will be.

For a quick fix to plaza frame rates, just change your preferences, lowering the distance detail to a level your video card can handle.  Worked great for me, although the flames in the temple still look like a bad acid trip, so I have to walk sideways, not looking at them directly, just to navigate that area.

Chaos:  I tried reducing the visibility distance, and honostly did not notice much change, however it could have been that I did not reduce it enough to make much of a difference.

On another note, while playing down in the sewers, my screen would begin to literaly wack out.  lines and objects would repeat themselves on my screen thousands of times making it impossible to see. I also noticed that this occured most frequently around a staircase in the sewers.  Fortunatly the sewers are the only place that it is happening in. Am I the only one who is experiencing this problem?  And if not, is there a way to fix it?

Thanks a Bunch!

There is an answer for the latter problem on another thread.  You need to add an additional line on a data file.  I changed it and I no longer have that weird graphic problem.  You could do a search on a Dfryer message, it would be one of the more recent messages.

hmmmmm ok, I\'ll see what I can find.

Chaos:  I tried lowering the vision range again, this time with a much lower range, and gameplay improved dramaticly.   Sorry about the earlier post, guess I did not lower it enough to for it to make much difference.
