-- Entertainer Class --
« on: January 07, 2005, 07:28:46 pm »
Greetings all,

I\'m not sure if any of you have played SWG (star wars galaxies) by SOE (sony online entertainment), if you have you\'ll know exactly where i\'m coming from.

In SWG there was a class called \"entertainer\". the entertainer class was a class that focussed on socializing with other players. An entertainer could chose to play a variaty of different songs with different instraments with occational musical flourishes ordered by the musician. Dancing could also be done as an act of entertainment and was appropreatly associated directly with the instramental section of the class. In addition to more active player socializing, the class could also be added for practical purposes. When players are fighting or mining for extensive ammounts of time, fatigue would slowly build up. the more fatigue a player would have, the more difficult it would become to continue fighting or mining efficiantly. players could then go to a local tavern and observe the preformers to ease their minds and thus heal the fatigue.

I think it would be nececary for the entertainer to be inside a tavern, or some other building associated with public entertainment, for the healing effect to take place. It\'s not something the game NEEDS but I think it would help to bring players togeather as a community and add more flavor to the game.

Feedback from fellow players highly appritiated

Well in MB when you could choose your profession there were a few entertainers among them, like musician.  You can do whatever you want in PS, you are not limited by class as there are no classes.  What the quick creation things are is just were you start out with skills good for that profession.

Also I have heard of a bard\'s guild around here somewhere... Just can\'t remember the name... ;)
Lurking in that space between -             \The\____
trying to see what is off both ends -        -----\Mad\_____
but the confusion and chaos looks so fun -     ------\Bard\
that I must now jump down twixt them both and dance the dance

yes, there are no classes but I don\'t think typing /dace or /startmusic is gonna do much. if classes are to much then let me re-phrase. it would be nice to have the option available. there simply isn\'t anything close to what i posted curently existant in the game with the acception we leave out the taverns, which are always empty mind you.

I like the idea of an entertainer class. Also it\'s not really new and exists in many paper-n-pencil RPGs.

They are intelligence and have charisma and their songs are uplifting and reinforcing for fellow adventerers and disheartening and tear drum ripping for the villains. That would be a typical bard type class.

I think Warhammer RPG has Dance Elfs who practice a form of Dance that is also Martial art, making them extremely swift and elegant fighters as well as highly sociable types of elves (not your garden variety wood elf).

So yes, there are good options of making entertainment a viable class option.

Just my 2 tia,
