Exp and Progression Pts bug
« on: January 08, 2005, 01:08:48 pm »
When a rat has been killed (0%) life, it appears as standing still.  However, Exp received is ridiculous amount (2000 +) such that progression points earned is huge.  Reproduction of this bug is dependant upon the rat spawning and has been reproduced only through observation after a rat has been killed.  Although I don\'t mind all the exp :) it is nonetheless a bug.

It\'s not limited to rats either. I got 69470 experience points and 347 progression points for killing a rogue last night.

I believe, it is because XP is being based off of the Damage done.

The higher damage totals you do, the more XP you get, I have noticed (higher damager totals means you hit for more damage each strike).

Might want to look into that.

I\'ve also been getting anywhere between 300-900 pp from beating trepors. I think is way too high.

I saw this topic somewhere else and along with everyone else it seemed to be when you used freeze this happened.

I used both freeze and summon missile so I couldn\'t narrow it down to any one cast... however, it did only happen after I started casting spells..  This may be the problem.

It has happened to me whenever I used the weakness spell.  Normal melee doesn\'t seem to produce those massive xp.  (Although, I too don\'t mind - I have about 2k prog pts ;) )

When attacking a rogue, I just lead him back towards the forest to where he can\'t go any further, wait awhile, then come back and he doesn\'t fight back.  I have been levelling the heck out of my ways and gaining loads of xp!  :P

But with all these type bugs I fear a database wipe might not be that far off.  ;(   But I, for one, love these little bugs that can be exploited.  Leading that rogue around and getting him to not fight back is the most fun I\'ve had in CB yet.   :D  :D
