Magic concern

for the 2000 your paying to buy spells, it doesnt quite seem worth it.  not only are they weaker then the average blade, but it takes awhile to use and isnt worth the money.  i say this for those of us that when we created our player, we focused mainly on magic.

As mage i\'d indeed like more powerful spells. But i really don\'t agree that magic is weak currently. It is not diverse, yes. But it is powerful (at least summon missile is).

When you attack an ennmey with magic, you can stay out of range: you make _free_ damage. This is an enormous gain.

Obviously, more spells will come as the stability of the server improve. I have heard up to 22 spells are already ready.

Magic is not weak!
With magic you can run away from slower monsters and kill them from distance, if glyphs would make more damage solo killing would be very easy.

Be patient, the game is a beta, I was even amazed that their was something already like the magic system in wen I started playing. They have a lot stuff locked down atm to narrow down bug tracking....so again be patient.

In the current system it just takes more time ;) I killed rogues alone with only level 2 in magic - took half an hour :D

Ok... its not easy but with weapons you will need some potions...  ;)
If magic will do more damage now it would be easy.

I don\'t think magic should be stronger, I don\'t think summon missile was supposed to be a strong attack, I would consider something like fireball as an offensive spell, summon missile might be good against diaboli (eek, I\'ll have to watch out :O)
With more spells mages will surely get stronger, as for now all pp go in sword :P .

If I have to pick my high level Kran or my high level Mage to fight, right now I\'d pick the Kran almost always, but this simply has to do with all the goodies the fighters recently got (Powerful swords!) and the fact that I can\'t run and cast with my mage anymore.

Now once there are more spells just watch how the balance tips again and the muscle types complain how their slashing is too weak.

And back and forth we go, but as we progress it\'s all fun!
