"Wish"ful thinking

well this is just great.. wish is canceled... i am mad and in shock for now.. i\'ll be sad come tommorow >:( my gaming life is collapsing on me at this very moment..

Its slowing dawning on me GTA: SA wasn\'t near as good as Vice City.. in fact slowly the more i play SA i get mad.. ANGRY this stuff couldn\'t be in Vice City.. the music was insipred from the gods and damn didn\'t vice city have that feel :D?! That glorious everything-coming-together-unexplainable feel to it.. VC would have owned with bikes and a huge area like that.. make me sad really.. this last year of 2004 has been great for some of my fellow and younger fellow gamers (halo 2 and half life 2.. i greatly dislike FPS personaly :/)..

For me ever since 2002-2003 its been a downhill slide... i am in shock and awe.. when will games excite me again? WISH had me excited for the first time in about a year i ME the synic was very exicited about a game... (only paraled by my excitment waiting for SA.. but then i was like a kid going for candy in the strange van with SA it wasn\'t what i expected and in the end i felt violated *_*) well the 2 greatest hopes i had for gaming have let me down.. i am \"stuck\" until about 2005-2007 when the next gta will hit stores or unless something greatly unforeseen happens

I would have loved to play Wish.. at least gotten a taste.. but wo, for me the loss is greatest... i had just bought the video card that would have met WISH\'s draconian system reqs. i finaly had everything i would need... i get on and find it canceled (at least i can return the video card.. small victory really :/) but i never got to play.. never got past the loading screen... this is half about wish and half about how gaming is losing it (although gaming is all i have know since 6 years of age.. i am almost wanting to find a new hobby :( nothing could fill the gaming TRUE gaming void.. but then again.. games today aren\'t filling it either so)

Why on earth would they have canceled it anyway? great fan base an lots of hyped people... if they only hadn\'t had it where only 2 video cards in the world (i don\'t mean two TYPES of video card.. i mean they are only 2 of the same type of video card that can play it.. seriously they had a \"mortal kombat\" to see who would get those two video cards... it was sure fun to watch.. big 60,000 person killing spree)
Well guess i could study some more.. after all study and sleep are all i do these days -.-\' (maybe i could find some quantum reality where gaming isn\'t sliding downwards wish still exists and i get a SUPER ps3 vice city remake)

NOTE: let us hang our heads low for WISH and all it represented i must go sit in the dark and soak this in now.. at least get past the denial stage and see the stark reality of things.. don\'t forget to post your comments on wish... ler us all vent at mutable realms and its pig-faced backers who are the only forseeble cause of this >:( (forgive the rant tied to the wish news...)

I really didn\'t see the requirements, what 2 video cards actually played teh game fluetly? Seems wierd to me

yeah they at least owe us an explanation (the OWE us a game they hyped the crap out of .. but at the very least owe us an explanation)

and i forget the models but the only two cards in the universe was an anecdotal satire.. there are more then that.. it only seems like a few would work with it though

The most popular models of video cards that many people paid out the wazoo just months before wouldn\'t work on this game and that wasn\'t very fair...

Two things A. what was the game like? i will never get to play it so at least desribe it to me

and B. what games can i get excited over now? what else can i play? (don\'t say PS no offence but its not a whole game yet i am semi-excited about it though) I mean what could replace wish? the story the live content? (i looked at mourning.. from what i saw what a crap load i don\'t want the character i spent weeks on to just up and die) Is there any game that can fill the wish void?

EDIT: also where can i refund the 6 months out of my life i visted mutablerealms.com every day and watched and waited for beta 2?! where can i refund all the hype? very low MR very low... you and your backers better hope ya\'ll don\'t make another game.. i\'ll see it rot as i boycott it

I know man wtf they just randomly cancel it.  Watch next Dark and Light wiff get cancled along side guild wars. And finally, Planeshift O.o

hmm forgot dark & light... but it didn\'t look that great to begin with... and guild wars went gold didn\'t it? and if PS is canceled then well any games i give anything about are gone.. and then having nothing left to live for i will be coming for some people... with open arms and a loaded shotgun

gonna go check on DNL now.. its the best thing around so far i guess *sigh* :/

Well checked out Dark and light (yeah an edit would have worked but this was more a \"whole \'nother post\") and boy.. that is SOOO not wish.. i liked wish\'s races.. though few they where good and drawn out well.. DNL\'s races are crap (no offence DNL fans) they are so generic its not even funny come on a satyre or dragonkin or something unique would have been nice not \"half troll\" \"troll\" \"elf\" \"dark elf\" i mean i could have come up with those when i was 10 years old (to me races are a big thing as i like variety and i am a HUGE RPer..) I am semi-intrigued by all the focus on crafting there isn\'t much info on it or very many quality screenies but hey.. also what just pisses me off about DNL is the \"we are uber awsome and will have super exclusive beta tests with only the best in them\" kinda vibe i picked up from the questionaire on the signup.. come on who do they think they are?! graphics look ok at best game play is interesting but also par i mean they sure thikg highly of themselves (i will test it.. cuz i am not gonna pay 50 bucks for that.. frankly it doesn\'t look cool enough to pay 50$ just to try it out)

looked at mourning again.. less races EVEN LESS variety and originality then DNL (yeah i didn\'t think it possible neither) dieing from old age and losing that character FOREVER is VERY unexciting.. over all \"unexciting\" is a word to describe mourning...

Well i remeber now why i was so excited about wish.. it was RP centered (unlike the other games :/) also it was gonna be the best option for a long time (frankly wish was the last mmo i got to down the long list of betas and future released.. i was just about to give up mmorpg until i found WISH.. but now its gone.. well :/)

Lets just hope that this is all some sick and VERY twisted joke (if in the end it was a joke i would laugh it up... cuz the would have had us ALL fooled)

Also i would like to formaly welcome any and all wish refugees to planeshift!

EDIT: oh my :/ well, well, well,.. what do i see here on the  \"Horizions\" http://www.istaria.com ...hmmm... different and origional races... crafting, exploring, RPcentric (a whole seperate RP server actualy) and you can buy land and build on it hmm no live content but this i will have to look into

EDIT2: looks like i will have to swallow my words.. there does appear to be live content on horizions... yay i feel excited and alive again!

yea i sit there and gaze at games goen ahh yea looks  good aye (i dont know where this post is going aye but hold on) like everquest 2. i would sit there getting screenshots and stuff for a long time. when it comes out im like eh...never think of playing it.

i like watching the advancements of games and seing them progressm, waiting for screenshots ect....

the only game i have installed and play (minus little sega roms which i love !!!) is half life 2. my mum picked it out for me (isnt she clever)

yeah my mom is cool like that too.. i was parked in the wal-mark/best buy parking lot and she was in the circut city parking lot on GTA:SA release day.. she ended up getting the SA copies before even i did O.O anywa this horizions looks very cool :D once i download the little trail version of it i\'ll post what its like (i\'m gonna be a satyr) also DAP is still owning all these beta downloads... i\'m getting 500kps

And anybody know what EQ2 is like in-game? i looked at it but didn\'t give it a second look becuase of wish.. i to sit there looking at the advancements just waiting for the perfect game to come along (to me GTA: VC is the closest gaming has ever come and may ever get to perfect)

EDIT: whats with games vagrently trying to piss me off lately? :/ for the \"free trail\" you need a credit card... i mean i\'ve been meaning to get one.. but i\'m not gonna rush and go ahead and get one just for this game sorry.. plus if its free then why the crap do they need a CC# anyway?! X_X (mmorpg is starting to piss me off.. its not even RPg anymore anyway its a bunch of character progression games greedy  corperate types are milking for money not caring about the players >:( ...)
