This is also a good chance to improve some things.

So stay tuned ;)

Karosh,

I will be glad to help any way I can.  Let me know.

In regards to changing things...

Devs, there have been numerous posts on different threads requesting an art tarball.

If you would get behind a structure that splits the code from art it would simplify creating update versions on all platforms and protect the artists IP rights. From that point it should be easy to run the installer and then load art either with update or from a previously downloaded tarball.

It should be a simple thing to package the art and make it available for download after a users acknowledges the art license terms.

The code and art are already split. When you compile the client from CVS, there is no art included (except for the dummy stuff). So what would be the difference in using the updater and packaging the art in to a tarball and downloading it? Besides,  the tarball must be kept in sync with the repository, or you would download old stuff and the updater would get the whole stuff again ;)

UPDATE!
I finally received the doc from Talad, and I\'m preparing the new installer now. Once I submitted the signed doc and the installer was approved, you can start having fun again :D

The artball does not need to be in daily sync with the CVS, can be in a monthly or weekly sync. The purpose of the art tarball is to provide a smaller download base, which then only the changes need to be updated.

GREAT NEWS!!!! So by next weekend we should be joining with the fun once more.

You still haven\'t read the thread? However, this is the one and last time this should happen. If you read it, you will know why ;)

Btw, I just finished compiling the binaries and I\'m going to make some changes to the updating system. After that is done, I will stuff everything together and make the new installer :)

Small update: I finished the shell script to download the updated binaries. You need curl and md5sum installed to run it, but these should be already installed on your systems. If not, it will tell you ;)
Later today I will finish the package :)
