@hav0x:
Code: [Select]
checking for jam... no

Install jam, otherwise you won\'t be able to compile.

Please read through this post before trying to install with official installer. Or you can wait for Karosh\'s installer.

well then... just wait for Karosh\'s installer, you won\'t need jam for his version.

You can get jam here hav0x.

You may need to get libidn too if you don\'t have it.

Why the hell make a song and dance about a new character model when the Official Installer does not work and the working Loki Installer is not available.

Definitely seems to me that the Devs are Windows biased, wanting PS to work only for Windows by eliminating working Linux Installers.

I partly agree.

The devs have got their priority set on Windows, because that\'s where most users will probably come from and that\'s reasonable.

What I don\'t understand is that they give so little (direct) support to people trying to do their work in creating a good Linux installer. If it were up to me I\'d ask people like Karosh to be on the developers team and give them all the help they need. That\'d take the least time for everybody, make it official instead of something in one of the threads and keep everybody happy, not just the windows users.

Just my 2 cts though.
The two most common things in the Universe are hydrogen and stupidity. Just look at the number of Windoze users ;)

I\'ve updated my BFU a little, and it\'s now working without problems for me, just if someone\'s interested. I could upload the German version if you like, but i don\'t want to translate it to english *again*.

And to that Windows-Linux thing: Well yes perhaps the Devs concentrate on Windows, but why do they? Because most people have Windows, and most of the devs too i guess. We Should be happy that they actually try to keep up a support for Linux... Most apps don\'t work for Linux at all, you should remember that. And keeping a Linux support isn\'t too easy, if they all have Windoze, is it?

That was just 1 thing to defend the devs. Maybe something will change when I\'ve the bachelor in software technics and join the dev team ;) I hope that will be in a few years, but now I\'ve to finish school first...

Whoooheeee!

Well I\'m quite confused about whether I should download it, now that my BFU finally works. But, well, whatever my decision will be: Jamona Shikon will be at the loki party! When will it start?

Can you post a md5 checksum for the installer? It\'s quite handy if yo want to be sure you didn\'t a download corruption somewhere.

Cheers,

The MD5 sum is 7fd09b5040050c5caa937159b69dfce9
But the installer runs a md5 check on itself, so it\'s not really neccessary ;)

The installer also made it onto the PS download site \\o/
