Extreme 3D, An intel Graphics card.
« on: January 14, 2005, 03:45:51 am »
Just got a new comp.... From eMachines... For me.... (not my idea, i wanted to custom make one).

Anyways, the graphics card is called \"Extreme 3D\" and is made by Intel. Has anyone ever heard of it? And is it any good?

Nothing that came with the computer mentions what it is (the computer is meant for old people who have no experience with such technologies... so i asume the card is\'nt all that good.)
But i did manage to screw around in the Control Panel, and found a little bit of info on it... Aperantly its 64mb... Nothing else was stated.

Give your opinion.

P.S. Almost forgot, the mother board has PCI slots and not AGP ones.... So i can not transfer my 5up3r 1337 Radeon 9800, nor my n0t 50 1337 Radeon 7500 to the new comp.

64mb is bad for a graphics card. Youll need a better one if your planning on playing any recently released game.

it is an integrated card, using shared memory I believe, so it is not so 31337, go get out your soldering iron and some computer electronics for geniuses and add an agp slot yourself :D j/k

I\'ve thought of what to do, and so far all i could think of is trying to overclock my comp or something so that my motherboard burns out and I am forced to get a new one :)... Hey, it worked with my old PSU *evil look*

How big is the case? You can just buy a new motherboard-processer combo for very cheap and replace the old one with that one. Of course then you would need some ram and a video card.
Cheap video card go for the Radeon 9200 SE for a more high end go for the All-In-Wonder Radeon 9800.

Ram id say get Kingston 512MB DDR for now. Then a little later you can add another 512 stick or maybe even a gig :).

For the new motherboard I reccomend getting an AMD because there generally cheaper and I personally think they are much better.  If you can\'t find any motherboard-processer combos make sure the processer fits the board. :P

Need any more help, just pm me.

You sure there\'s no AGP slots? We got an nVidia card not long ago and at first I didn\'t see an AGP slot but it was conveniently buried in the middle of the motherboard.

And emachines...I would feed myself to lions before using one of those. My cousin has one and it\'s become horribly overrun with viruses and adware.

That could easyly be blamed on your cusin  :D
The box proudly states the the motherboard has 8 pci slots. (like i said the comp is made for old people... And if you dont know the difference between PCI and AGP and what not, the number is the only thing that counts)

That computer sounds evil, you had better burn it before it corrupts you.

Dude, at least i didnt get a Dell.
 :D

To be honest with you, when i was told we were getinga new comp, i was hoping for either custom built, or Alienware.... As you can see, none came true.

The comp cost $350.... But ironicaly my dad was able to \"borrow\" a $550 LCD 20\" monitor from work. So, something good came out of it  :D.

My comp cost me a little over 400 about a year ago.
2.0 Ghz AMD athalon XP
512 MB DDR RAM
128 MB graphics card. (Radeon 9200 SE)
Huge case with with lights and a clear side :)
CD burner
Disk drive
120 gig hd and another 20 gig one
New speakers-CA Platinum siries somthing bla bla bla...

=$400 us

Thats the kinda deal you get when you shop around :)
I reccomend you take out the CD rom drive, disk drive, and hd before you burn your comp though. You can stick em in your new drive and have an extra cdrom drive, an extra hd, and extra disk drive :)

I have an Emachine 2004 computer, and I am not complaining.

AMD Athlon XP 3000+ {2.171 GHz}
Ge Foce 4 MX Integraded Graphix with 64 VRAM
I\"VE UPGRADED: Ge Force FX 5200 with 256 VRAM
512 DDR SDRAM {333MHz}
NForce 2
1024*768 RES, 32 Bit FlatScreen Plasma Monitor

About the EXTREME 3D, it should only be used if you do not need a good graphic card and do not play games. I have heard that almost notheing runs on it and that it suckz.

Get yourself a Ge Force FX 6600 and stop worriing about stuff!

i have a 32 bit nvidea g-force 4 card and i can run half life 2 quiet well.  the graphics are ok (not fully turned up and everything)

sometimes its the quality of the card and not the about of ram its has.  like you could have a cheep 64 bit card that would be slower than a good quality 32 bit card.

What I suggest to do with the computer. BURN IT, cose there is no point on getting any extra things for it because it\'ll cost you more to update it than it will a new computer, Trust me. I got a custom built computer that cost me about $2000 AUS. It has
AMD Athlon XP 2800+,
EXCALIBUR 3D graphics card version 15.0,
2.07 Ghz, 256MB of Ram,
101GB of free space,
a 28.8 Kbps connection,
A 17\" screen but it isn\'t flat screen :(
Some of the times I could Curse my computer to hell because it doen\'t run some programs like Planeshift for example :(.
yes... i\'m addicted to smilies :P:):D;), get me mental help peoples....
