About Planeshift
« on: January 15, 2005, 10:08:56 pm »
So is this game an open skill based system, or is it level based?  Plus, is it true about it being a free mmorpg?  I am confused.  I am new to this.
Also playing Unreal Tournament 2004: Black Poison

There\'s no point in being curt on a newbies forum. We are only newbies!

It does seem to be free. Atleast right now and they say it will always be free.
Good day to you sir.

Well, just reading the site or the Player\'s Guide will tell you it\'s a skillbased system.

Read the million other \"is this game free?\" threads will tell you it is free, and will stay free, due to its open-source, voluntary nature.

Being a newbie is no excuse for not being able to read for yourself. We write these things for a reason... I have a vain hope that several other newbies might happen upon this post of mine and read it, rendering their need to create yet another thread on the subject pointless. But well all know that never happens. :P

The point of this forum is to help newbies not to tell them to read somthing or other. While somepeople read the manual before playing a game, others don\'t. (some people can\'t read at all but then why would they be playing a game?) I got the impression you were annoyed with all the duplicate thread. If you are getting annoyed then why come to this forum?

I did like your FAQ by the way. Very helpful.
Good day to you sir.

I come here because it is my job.

I tell people to read because we don\'t write guides and manuals and spend hours and hours answering questions for more people to just come along and ask them again without reading a thing. I do not like spoonfeeding people who refuse to help themselves... if you don\'t like it, tough. :)

Really, you wouldn\'t help it, but Moogie is a Moderator which it said in the past before the alpha screwed around.

You see the ones who are special with the avatars and stuff (and the lack of rank)

That is what I thought but I didn\'t know how these forums worked.

EDIT - Is that why I couldn\'t use an avatar?

Correct. Only Developers and moderators are allowed to have an avatar so they are easily recognized.

Ingame GMs also have avatars, aswell as \"special\" people (chrischoo the server sponsor, for example).
