Slow start
« on: January 15, 2005, 10:19:57 pm »
I like this game overall (very pretty) But it seems to get off to a pretty slow start.

Unless I\'m missing something, our options are pretty much bash millions of rats until we scrounge up enough money and points to move on. Eventually you can dig up gold but you\'ve got to get enough money to buy a pick and train the skill.

Is there no place you can get a stick of firewood for a club or something cheeper than the short swords they sell and get this moveing a bit quicker at the beginning?

Not at the current stage of development. The admins are adding things slowly to keep the level of bugs to a minimum. Bare in mind this version hasn\'t been public for very long. Of course there are many more things already implemented, but they will be added to the game when the time is right.

The game as it stands seems to consist of competing with other players for rats or mining gold. If you\'re lucky you\'ll encounter players who will share the rats. Others you just have to beat them to it. I do think the skills cost a fair bit early on to learn, I\'d be interested to know if the costs in progression points increase (It would seem appropriate for levelling skills to be easier at the lower levels and harder at the higher levels).

Yeah, it\'s a slow start. Hopefully they introduce some new stuff to the game soon (eg. crafting, new newbie area) so that there is more to do, and more ways of improving yourself.
