At the moment, i\'m seeing lots of people not being able to update, including myself. The game looks to be quite the quality product. However, The Updater seems to be missing a few useful debug/troubleshooting features, just a few suggestions that could make n00b and dev life easier:
Example:
I start the updater, it says hello, so i click update.
Couldn\'t connect to mirror Laanx.
switching mirror...
and then it \"downloads\" something, not telling me what it is, it reaches 100%, and sits there.
It would likely be helpful if the updater first pings the server its trying to connect to, reports the latency, then tries to download from it.
Another thing, more important, have a backup copy of the updater server running when updating the main backup server, so that people can still download the previous update, IE: N00bs, so that we can experience your hard work, instead of grumbling for an indeterminate amount of time that we can\'t even update, while we see other people connected to the server.
One question as well...
My friend and I both downloaded PS at about the same time, me on WinXP, him on OSX.
We both downloaded the \"version 15\", he installed, and could play right away, while i\'m waiting patiently for the update server to return. I noticed that the version the installer placed on my hard drive is not in fact 15, but 14, when the installer clearly says 15. PLEASE keep your executable packages straight (>.< )
Kind regards, and keep up the great work. I myself am attempting an MMO game, (hopefully commercial, but for now its just whatever) with a team of *sigh* four. We\'re trying to break away from the normal vision of an MMO game...
Thanks again,
Xypher
