Updater up agian question?
« on: January 16, 2005, 07:07:37 pm »
The updater is working agian but then it says updating to another version of updater i think its version 1.0.2.3 but then it says it has to replace all old files with new dont do anything until you are told so press ok to continue I did this and ive been waiting over 30mins for it to tell me wat to do next, and that hasnt come up yet so my question is how long is it going to take to replace the old files with the new ones?

It shouldn\'t take long, and I can\'t think of any cases where it may fail except if you in some wierd way run out of space on the hd.

first i checked update.zip in program directory and found that it was dated when i tried the updater and it failed.

then i unziped the updater.zip file to the same dir it was in (planeshift install dir)
that updated the updater and then i started it normaly and updated the rest of the files.

me and my comp illiterate self had serious problems trying to do what all TobbeJ had said, was over my head, too complicated for me.  Anyways, I found another solution.  I just removed the planeshift program, went back to where I had saved it when I downloaded it originally, ran the installer again, then the updater, boom it updated my updater from 1.0.2.1 right to 1.0.2.3 then started updating all those files. Worked like a charm. I never had the no text problem so I can\'t relate to that.
