Altona,
I fixed the updater by doing the following:
1)Run the updater
2)after it crashes, go to wherever you installed planeshift.
3)look for an updater.zip, it should be dated whenever you ran the updater.
4)unzip updater.zip into the planeshift directory, it should ask you if you want to overwrite the existing file, say yes.
5)run the updater again if all went well, it will update properly, and not crahs :)

Hope it helps,
-Andy

Hmm that didnt work for me, i added it to a zip and extracted it to the planeshift directory. It asked me if i wanted to replace the files and i said yes. Still no luck....

The updater isn\'t working for me either. I checked my PS folder, but I didn\'t find a .zip file. Where\'s it located?

Same here, update ris basically crashing with the message the initial poster wrote. I could fix it by unzipping the updater.zip but basically something seems to be broken with the updater.

Do you need computer specifications for debugging?

Nice to see everyone is still playing with or trying to find or unzip that zip.  If anyone did like i did and still have the planeshift and saved it when they downloaded it, all i did was remove the program, then installed planeshift again, and ran the updater.

Just so you know, I\'ve located the error that you\'re having (did that like 1-2 days ago) but the guy who handles the repos (Talad) need to update it which can take time until he has time (There are other things that are priorited atm)

Extracting updater.zip to the PS main directory worked great for me. Thanks!

Alright, after severe amounts of bashing my head against a wall, I found the .zip file. for those of you who have the same problem I had, it\'s in a \"planeshift crystal blue\" file under \"planeshift\" Though that might just be me...
Anyway, thanks to everyone for the help!

I followed the above directions and \"bingo\" when I went back to update, it was off and running.  Thanks, I would never have figured it out for myself.

I had the same problem. After waiting some time I restarted the updater, it said it was 1.0.2.3, but then it wanted to update again.
I found the updater.zip in the PS main dir, but unpacking it into the main dir didn\'t work. But after that I found the updatertemp dir and I copied all of the stuff into the main dir and it worked!
It still sayd it is 1.0.2.3, but it started the main update now!
