The Gems Of Mythblac
There was a legend of gems, gems so powerful that no single person could harness its power without facing a horrible end. Some feared it, and some desired it, desired the power of domination, the power of destruction. The gems of might some call them, although only one gave physical strength. Such gems had quite amazing powers, each created by the Dragons of old, Ancient Wisdom, Dragon Strength, Thunderous Agility, and Mystic Invisibility. Each its own advantage, each its own weaknesses. Having one gem will not make you unstoppable, but combined would have the power of the Ancients, a power that could destroy the sun....
Torches blazed in the dark snowy night, but the group of tattered adventurers plunged forth up into the height of the towering mountains. They were three strong and determined, yet torn from the hot sun of the oasis and the frostbite of the mountains. Their leader Ecanar, a young but strong fierce warrior with a pure heart and a sharp blade, Raonian, the ranger, who could track someone?s foot steps that were 100 years old, and Caolia, there druid, she was always willing to help, but reluctant to fight unless in self-defense. Their quest was to reach the Ancient Gems Of Mythblac before Daosean, Ecanar?s enemy from the Old Times found them. If Daosean ever got them, it would all be over, he serves for purposes of evil, and would use the gems for destruction. He only has a small army right now, of evil creatures, although weak, they would strengthen through the gem.
Through the thick falling of snow and the black abyss of the night, it was difficult to see where they were going, much less find a place for rest. Finally, Caolia, through her magic, spotted a near by cave in the wall of the mountain. As they got closer, they discovered that it was only an inlet of about four feet, but not wanting to go on any further, it would have to do. They set up their sleeping pads and went to sleep.
As the exhausted group got up, they began to cook the small pieces of meat Raonian managed to get the night before. Although he said they would be fresh in the morning, nature?s wrath disagreed and froze them into to small chunks of what used to be rabbit. As Seitil and Raonian sat next to the fire discussing where to go after the mountain pass, Caolia sat looking over the cliff at the horizon, seeing white wherever she looked, out in the distance, a speckle of grayish green caught her eye. Even staring hard, normal humans would dismiss it as a group of trees or rocks, but Caolia?s experience in nature told her otherwise, enhancing her vision, she shouted suddenly for Seitil and Raonian to come, using magic on them too, they gasped.
Then Caolia manages to whisper the word they feared, ?Ogres??
