new update, same old crash

Just updated from a reinstall to the 0.3.006 version, and I STILL get the crash on logon (dump file here) .

Plus I still can\'t compile the client so i can debug it myself because there are missing files in the CVS which cause planeshift not to compile properly.

Here is the stack I got from the dump:

You should launch the client from command line with --console option and paste here the text you see.

Don\'t suppose you have a solution?
I\'ve tried:
  • Removing and Reinstalling
  • Running without sound or different driver
  • Running full screen, windowed at multiple resolutions
  • Clicking \"yes\" when it asks me to debug and trying to understand anything that appears
  • Screaming at the computer


But all to no avail. This computer and Planeshift just aren\'t compatible in any form what-so-ever , which kind of sucks.

Soory! I do not have a solution. I am just trying to compile the source code for the client so that I can get more debug information...

There are no missing files in the CVS.
Every single code piece we have for PS is in there

I may have a solution for you.

If you have a CVS version of planeshift and the $CRYSTAL and $CEL variables set, I sugest that you disable those two variables.

Whoops - forgot to mention the thread / file with the details of the file that causes PS not to compile. It\'s in CEL - thread - but PS won\'t compile without it (sorry for the confusion).

Hi,

I have got the same problem and I Was thinking that I got it just after I have been compiling PS CVS successfully. Of course, I haven\'t tried with unsuccessfull compiling of PS, but probably the client, when you press ok, is going to find the piece of code of PS CVS and not from the binary version (Just trying to give a really brutal explanation, hope it does have some sense).

As I said in another message, isn\'t it possible to keep both versions (CVS and binary) without constantly modifying the settings?
