A new Organization

The realm of Planeshift has been plagued by intolerance, arrogance, and invaded by a horde of n00bs.  It has altered the course of our experience.  The core of PS has shifted as well, from prominent and distinguished members to a swarm of newbie players, who may have potential however have not been here since the beginning and have not earned respect.  

Functionality:

        For these reasons, I want to help create a new organization, ?The United Realm of Planeshift.?  ( Name will most likely change)  I envisioned this organization as a Grand Alliance? not necessarily to stop guild wars ( They will still happen) but to bring the guilds of Planeshift together.  Together we can make alliances, trade agreements, get more involved in the community, and as a group petition the Creators about what we want added (like the wishlist).  

       This organization will be comprised of many of the Guilds of Old, Realm, and New (If we can get their support).  We can make decisions on who can join and the like.  I understand that many (possibly all) will be skeptical about the usefulness of the organization.  That is why I need help with everything.  I understand that it is I, Valbrandr, who is spear heading this idea but please do not judge it because I am not a prominent member.  I can only give you  my word that it can and will work if I get the help I desire.  One last thing, just because this is my specific idea does not mean I will be leader? maybe a council will head it, but defiantly not just me.

Edit: I will set the first goal at ten guilds... Not counting the Sentinels of the Ragnarok (SOR).  So we need nine other guilds to get this up and running.  For now, each guild leader will be a member of the council.  Any guild, no matter how prominent, if you are interested contact me.

Four departments have been created:

Alliance Dept: Works out alliances between guilds

War Dept: Works out or atleast can help negotiate cease fires.

Mercantile Dept: Works out trade agreements and the like, maybe deals for buying Castles, shops, and houses later.

General Assembly: Where we can discuss how to change PS and where we will vote on new guilds to add to the United Realms of Planeshift.

How it works:  All guilds will participate in the General Assembly.  In addition, Each guild will have a representive that will be in either Alliance/War/Merchantile dept.  So each guild will have three reps.  This is just the beginning.

Hopefully the forum will be up tomarrow.

Ok somthing like this has come up many times bfore an has failed every time.  You only joined in like a month ago btw so I would still consider you new. Iv been around 7 months and I still consider myself new =/
If you actually stick to making a counsil like this it will be great but it will be a very VERY hard thing to do. Good luck pulling it off.

The \"newbs\" here must be stopped before it turns into RS though. Maybe a guild that is like judges? And they could punish people for crimes of abusing /shout or somthing?

Edit: and btw, didn\'t karl marxx make communism? or was that somone else...

I agree, I am still new.  Ive only been at the forums around a month and been playing for three months.  Even though this will be very difficult to pull off I think it can be done.  What I need is help from some of the prominent members.  If I could get there support than we could pull this off.  

BTW:  Karl Marx is the founder of true Communism (his ideas), however not how it has been implemented though.

Well I could help you in a personal way but Helmora Velsha coulldn\'t join this thing. It would just destroy all of what we belive in and make it look like we don\'t do what we say we do.

That was my thought exactly.  A Planeshift UN... I just did not put that because many do not think the UN is effective.

So if u tryng to do something like that u\'ll have to divid it in departments, like Commerce, culture, war, etc..

Yeah, I gotta say I liked a lot of this idea, my congratulations Valbrandr, finnaly someone has some good ideas (sarcasm , just kidding).

So, any news, help requests, and all kind of that stuff put in here! I\'m sure a lot of ppl would like to be part of this project.

If you will try to make it an alliance or anything near UN, you will fail more miserably.
Don\'t ever mention UN here, you\'ll just create another burning thread.

I agree, it will not be the UN though.  It will be comprised differently.  My main comparison is that I want this to imploy the same magnitude.  With a multitude of guilds eventually.

Me personally, I like the UN.  I think it can be effective, however we as a whole have to give it the power to be effective.  Many do not like it, especially Americans.  (Though I am an American so go figure).

I have been looking over the BISM.  However, there are plenty of differnces: 1) We are not trying to make money by providing services, 2) We will be a number of guilds, not just individuals, 3) Our benefit is a grand alliance...  Which could be very helpful in many ways.
