Death Realm

Hi!

Today, I have been unfortunately killed by a rat (ok, everybody can laugh, now!) and so, I ended up in the Death Realm.

At the beginning I was a bit confused, but then I realized (also because somebody suggested ...) where I was and I tried to explore to find a way out..

I must confess, honestly, that I have noticed a great art work in PS. Really, for being a not commercial game, result of time of appassionated people, I think there is a care of details that is impressive, and I know how much time does it take to create some model that is convincing and satisfactory (even if, since I am not an artist my models suck by default ;-) ).

I think that the atmosphere of the Death Realm was absolutely great. I was feeling in trap, afraid of falling down, wanting to escape and looking everywhere around and  everything was dark.
No words on how cool it is the way back home...

I think that conceptually as alternative to permanent death, and stupid immediate resurrection, this is a really brilliant solution (ok, my previous experiences were just MUDs related... but...) and.. well, what I can say more than show how much impress I was?

Okey, probably nobody cares of the opinion of a person like me, that haven\'t played so much and hasn\'t been so active in the forum. I just think that it is important also to give really positive feedback!

Im quite new around here too, and I must say my first fall into the death realm was quite impressive
As you say, it\'s a very good turn around for the usual intantaneous resurection near some kind of magical rock or something ^^

COME WITH ME, MORTAL ONE!

As in history with lengthy and tedious death sequences, this version is quite passable. It took me some time to find the right ladder since it is rather dark there, but all in all, it was as enjoyable as death can possibly be (don\'t get me wrong .

Will there be many places to get out of the DR, some of them giving on mysterious places?

i dont like the death realm it doesnt allow you to get back into action quickly maybe in the future only your spirit goes to the death realm after you get out of the death realm you go back into your body upon exit

it would really suck when the world gets bigger to have to run all the way back to the dungeon your freinds are still in on the other side of the habitat and having a ressurection feature for healing mages to bring your spirit back to your body immediately

The Death Realm is a punishment.
The option is to lose skill / exp / items / spells which only cause greif.

Well you died. Dieing is not supposed to be easy and nice. Be happy you get a chance to return. Real life is not as forgiving :-)

yes but when you die there will be a short time in which to be ressurected wont there? by certain spells/potions

Later on you will have the chance of sacrificing a magical token to the death god, in order to be ressurected a the moment and place you died. Else the greedy Death god will take you down into the realm of death. Where you will only have the chance to leave it for special Nexi, places of power,
The Temple of Laanx, The temple of Talad and certain other places of tremendous power.

I like the concept of the Death Realm, too bad my first trip( and only so far) was glitchy. I apeared lying down and didn\'t get up, fell off a cliff near the beggining and died again, at which point I was stuck and had to ask an Advisor for help.

I think that if you are in a party and you have a mage, there would be a spell that will bring you back. ONCE. If you die again you go to the DR.  I do agree that the DR is a punishment but sometimes, your death wasn\'t your fault ( as in lag or glitches ect. not as in you didn\'t run away). Although having a spell wouldn\'t really help in those situations most likely.  Or its like a warning, you get one chance and after that YOUR DEAD.

Nothing to laugh about being killed by a rat, it is normal to die by them.

Anyway Death Realm can be called my 2nd home, as I spend close to half my time in DR due to rats, but the worst is from gobbles and rogues brought in by high powered characters.

Maybe Death Realm can be increased in size to make it a little more interesting.

Permanent death and sever punishment for death should not be implimented until the lag is reduced to acceptible levels, than is under 300 ms just like other MMORPG servers around the globe. Lag at more than 1 s (where upto 3 s is not rare either) currently does induce unnecessay death and it is not entirely the players fault or intension for ending up dead.

When you die, you corpse could stay where you died, but you character could go in the DR (like it is now).

With a resurrection spell, someone could cast the spell on your corpse,  and you would go back where you died.

But if you leave the DR with the portal, your corpse disappear and you should wake up yourself where you died.  If you die in the DR, your corpse vanishes too and when you will take the portal, you are warp to a starting point.

To add to the challenge, there could be many beginning point in the DR and a lot of exits. Some roads more dangerous than others
