A Planeshift bank?
« on: January 21, 2005, 04:43:33 pm »
Maybe we can have a  bank that keeps all corrency, including safe keeping items (swords, axes, hides, golds, etc).
There will be also interest if you keep your money in the bank for 100 PlaneShift days.  and Maybe there could be days when interest rates can reach a high or a low (you know like modern day stocks)

If banks are made, which they should be, there should be a limit to the number of items they can keep safe, no limit to the amount of money it can hold though.
Good day to you sir.

Why would you need a bank if there is no open pk or stealing?

I was thinking something like that, but banks don\'t hold items.

How about valts? they hold all your items for you! And a click and paste password to prevent hacking.

You get little viking-looking runes, and you have to place them in a bar you make your password, they are randomly places as well, another anti-hack mesure.

Like it? :P

But isn\'t there going to be a pick-pocket skill or something? a bank is a must for storing items & money you do not want stolen...

Also If & Or When they are going to implement an item weight system were you can only carry a certain amount of items before it gets to much to move we will need a place you can rent to store extra items...

I think a bank is a brilliant idea, indepentently from PK and PS (Player Stealing).
A parte from the pick-pocket action, I guess that in the future it will not be possible to carry in the inventory a large amount of objects and billions and billions of coins. Depending from the strenght, there should be a weight limitation over the inventory + coins + equipment you can wear.

A bank anyway increases the realism, and there could be players enganged in the management of a bank.

To free up space in your inventory to hold other things, especially if a clothing system is implemented where certain clothes are neccessary to get places, or to gain an advantage in some skill.

Or to perform special rituals,

But anyways when a weight system is implemented you will dearly need to have a bank,
also there could be the possibility of making debt and when you dont payback soon enough they will take something valuable,

I dont think they\'ll do that, cause we can creat a swat team :) to keep safe our stuff, or a job could be police (they could patrol banks and other things)

a bank would be good, but wouldnt be free to use it, whenever you deposit items/money you pay a fee, to withdraw you pay a fee... thats the only good way to make it work

I\'m not sure that fees for everyday access to your bank account would help the game, but I think that players should have to pay a fairly large one-off fee to get an account or vault.  Both should be available, but a vault can hold items and gold while an account pays interest at a rate of about 3.7%/real time month term deposit - with early termination fees.   Maybe players should be allowed to get a loan either for a \"usance\" fee monthly or with a one-off fee using items against high value items in the bank.

Maybe deaths due to duelling could give the victor the right to loot the looser\'s corpse but not his bank account, while the corpses of people killed in battle are \"respected\" and do not loose items.

A bank would definately be necessary to implement a pickpocketing system.

Then you could keep your more precious stuff to the bank, and other things at your house.

I think it should be 50 kg, 100 kg, 250 kg and 500 kg :D
