Game Freeze (constant) UBER LAG?

Ok, I load ps, selct my character, and join the game, and I get a screen after a long wait, but it\'s frozen. In full screen it takes a long time for any refresh to happen, and in windowed mode it goes white/black then refreshes after about 5 minutes and it\'s back to being frozen. The scenery has changed but I cannot interact with the world.  In full screen, after about 20 minutes, the game finally crashes.
But till then, i\'m standing there in the plaza like an idiot till that happens.

It worked fine last night. This is all in hydlaa plaza zone.

What I have tried:

closing PS and deleting the art\\worlds\\hydlaa_plaza.zip and updating

Running in windowed, different resolutions, and various buffering settings, including off.

deleting ps-client.exe and running update.

nothing is working.

I think this qualifies as a bug. I got next to no response in the technical support forum so I figured I\'d try here, and at least let you guys know that this is a new bug.


I am running and amd athlon 64 fx-53, nvidia gt6800, and 1 gb ram.

and I have a dump file but I see no way to attach it to this post.

I have the same problem, I was going to reply to supergrover\'s other post but now I can\'t find it

I am stuck on the ridge west of oja valley in front of a Tefusang each time I log in it is very slow FPS 0.1 or probably less but I get some information now and then telling me the Tefusang has hit me, when I click the Tefusang the screen goes black for a few second and then refreshes eventually...if I click the talking box the same thing happens...I can\'t even type /quit

God I hate that Tefusang!  >_<  I can see every cavity in his square toothed mouth! one day I will kill him!

I have no doubt we all read the same forums... after all I got 97 views to that thread before it was deleted. We just don\'t seem to respond.....

Yeah, I know, but even a \"me too\" so we know whether or not it\'s isolated can be useful to the people who do the code crunching around here.

OK, update:

I created a new character and the problem is non existant on him. I\'m guessing it\'s a problem with some sort of corruption in the player database that occured between yesterday and today.

Might wanna break out the database tools and do a consistency check or something.


That of course would mean bringing down the server completely while you do it.

This actually makes sense with the obvious problem with the mob server, and the mobs reading 1 health when they are at 100, and the anomalous \"dummy no attack\" items popping up. seems like some heavy duty database maintenance is in order.

All these things may or may not be connected but it\'s rather odd that they are all happening at the same time.

So the devs don\'t need to know if problems are isolated or not? You might wanna check with them on that.

By the way are there any specific settings about characters in any files client side?

Well I figured it out. I can explain what is causing the problem but not how to fix it.

It is defenitely a corruption in the database.

in my stats window it reads

fps: 0.0
experience: 617280151
and progression points 618,219

when my stats window is open (the one with the attack postures, health bars etc) my game lags like heck, when it\'s closed i can move around freely. It too in game help with gms to find this out, but that\'s what it is. defenitely.

I opened my stats window to see if the stats were fixed when I was able to move again and the game instantly borked again.

so if you can play without the dang window open I would suggest that.

at least till a better fix is available.

I have no idea how my info window got closed to begin with, it just happened and I was able to move.

but when it opened again it was broke again...

I\'ll toy around with my data\\gui stuff and try setting the window to invisible or something. I\'ll post the results.
