big problem, need help of a GOD.

becareful when you invoke the help of the gods. they have a capricious  will and a sense of humor to match. oddly enough, us mortals tend to miss the joke.

but let the updater tick over for a while eventually it will finish.

If it\'s updating the updater, on one of the versions I\'m afraid that you had to move the updater files manually.  There is a thread on the topic somewhere else, can\'t remember the link right off the top of my head at the moment.  Check on that?

Downloading the registy shouldn\'t take too long, if it does then mabey theres something wrong with the updater.

Dunno, but it might also be a firewall blocking the updater from connecting to the server.

try reinstalling windowz....
I had the same problem but then I did a lot of things to the comp... firewall disable didn\'t work but then I got into the services of win and enabled some of them(I had disabled some of them because it didn\'t run fast enough) anyway I don\'t remember exactly what I did.
