Pfeffa's Songs
« on: January 24, 2005, 02:35:58 pm »
Here I will post my songs:

-------------------------------------------------------

The first one is about waking up one morning and finding that all the christalls had gone!
No more easy money!
I had to DIG for gold ore!!
All Enkidukai know what it is like to lick yourself clean after digging in the dirt!!!

here it is:

http://www.pfeffa.demon.nl/ps/lament.mp3

Because it is a typical Enkidukai Lament it might be hard to understand the lyrics.
So for all you NON-Enkidukai listeners I put the lyrics below here.

---------------------------------------

Christalls Gone Lament
by: Pfeffa-rah

Where have all the christalls gone.
They were here since before I was borne. (I was borne)
They are gone.
They are gone.

Now, to dig for gold I go.
Dirt and Grime, in my coat. (My fur coat)
No searching on the floor,
They are gone.

Hallo Myiu,

Yes this big moonchristall that is suposedly of cheese(?) and even bigger than the sunchristall...
It is starting to inspire me. :)
However, make a song about something that I did not witness myself is forbidden for a Bard.
I could however make a song about the Moonseekers... and discribe what they are searching for.....

I\'m working on it.

Greetz,

Even being a Enkidukai the words are still strange to me(though I reconize most words) You are a very talented singer maybe you should stop by the Tavern bar one night and sing a song in the servers ;)

Uhm... A minor armonic... not bad the idea of build a song with the minor armonic harmony: it give a sense of strange and far away people. I liked the melody: you are a good singer. Do you used a flanger for your voice?
Only a thing: your guitar was a bit out of tune, the string which sounded C in the first chord (A minor) was a little high in tune

I liked the song :-D

I would most enjoy it if you didt make a song about the moonseekers me being one of them of course! just out of curiosity... what type/brand of guitar were you using in the song?? i have an electric accoustic and a bass but none of them really sound like that.

Hi,

About the Scales/Tuning:
The scale I used is not comparable with the Human Major and  Minor scales. The chord \"ties\" are also different. Although to a human ear it might sound as a A- minor chord, it is not.
Enkidukai also recognize the octave and also divide it in 12. Although the twelve \"steps are not all roughly the same size and we add some more tones there as alterations and dissonants.

About the instrument:
I do not use a guitar. Allthough I am familar with it, it is build for human hands and it is verry difficult for an Enkidukai to play it. (but not impossible) To play Enkidukai music on a Human Guitar I would need a Frettless one to be able to play all the notes. Althoug it is possible to leave some notes out and push up the notes to aproximate Enkidukai music.

About my Voice:
Did you never before hear a Enkidukai sing?
I do not know what this \"Flanger\" thing is, is it a kind of singing technique that I never heard of before? If it is, I would like to know more about it!

I am verry pleased that you all like my song.
Thank you verry much.

(Out of Character: I used a Senhizer microphone and a Roland sound module with a (cheap) keyboard. Just a bit of reverb added with CubaseSe. no more.) ;)

About the Scales/Tuning:

This is such interesting stuff!! I am very interesting in Enki music... I am a Xacha and our octave has 6 tones, this is very different from Ylians, in exemple, that uses 7 tones...The names of notes are the same as the Yliakum mounths but only the begin of the words. Our notes are called: Uno; Bya; Tre; Krav; Quin; Azho and these ones was suggested by Laanx itself, tell a popular legend among Xacha people, well: at least people who can play musical instruments or sing. Our notation system is quite easy: we use a graphic sign and/or colour for each note so our sheet music is also a picture (out of character: try to figure a Mandala). That sistem was created many years ago by a highly talented painter/singer Xacha woman called Rawina and adopted by all the Xacha musical schools, later. That the reason why we call \"Rawina\" our sheet music (the whole paint itself we call \"Ravina\" to distinguish it from normal pictures)

About the instrument:
i never seen an Enkidukai musical instrument... if you want to describe them i will be glad to learn more by u... Our musical intruments are mostly percussive and like-flutes among wastelands people; Xacha cityzen can learn all instruments they want because who have money can go by a trainer and learn it from his/her.

About Enkidukai voice:
yes, two times: one a time at Kada-El\'s and the other by u, but on my ears sounded so different, maybe you and that Enki guy came from different packs...
\"Flanger\" is a magical device, extremely rare as for as i know, i read only a time on a book in the Library about that one and i should study it better to have more knowledge on it.

Green Bottle
« Reply #12 on: February 22, 2005, 11:47:11 pm »
Hi,

I am working on a new song.

As you all know there is a Green Bottle in the tavern, the contens of witch is not really clear.
I\'ve seen the effects that is has had on some people and I am not sure it is wise to drink from it :) although the people who HAVE drunk form it seem to love it.

So my next song will be a drinking song. A hail to the green bottle.

No strange scales and chords, just a  tongue stumbling, pentatonic tune to sing along with :)

It\'ll be here when it\'s ready.
(It might take a while)
May you find the music in your heart,

NEW SONG: hail the green bottle
« Reply #14 on: February 28, 2005, 01:53:58 pm »
Hi there,

Being a performer I can\'t always sing \"special\" songs,
The people also want \"sing-alongs\". (especially after they consumed a considderid amount of alcoholic beverage.)

As you all know, On the bar in the tavern is a certain Green Bottle. It just sits there waiting until someone picks it up and drinks form it. There are different storys about that bottle going around. All of them having one thing in common. The drinker gets a boost of energy and also looses a bit of his view to reallity....

I poured all these stories into a Drinking Song.
As you can hear, all can sing, stamp, play, and clap along.

There are more verses..... however they are rather eh.... explicit.....
Well, you know how it goes when a bunch of guys drink :)

The song is here:
http://www.pfeffa.demon.nl/ps/bottle.mp3

refr:
Hail to the green bottle green bottle,
The green bottle in the tavern of the town, all right.
Drink from the green bottle green bottle,
The green bottle in the tavern, you could go all night.

verse:
Now listen to the story of the green green bottle
The green bottle in the tavern of the town, it\'s there
This is what can happen if drink from the green bottle,
the green bottle in the tavern listen an take care.

refr.

verse 2:
Kicked out by his wife out from under the covers.
A man came to the tavern, there to spend the night.
There he drank the green bottle green bottle.
He went back to his wife and kept her bussy all night

refr.

verse 3:
The man and his lover, They entered the tavern.
And they drank from the green bottle at the bar o\'er there.
They couldn\'t keep it in and they couldn\'t keep it covered.
and they couldn\'t get upstairs so they did it right here!
