Character Creation Bug - Please help

I\'ve just downloaded, and fully updated Plane Shift, I have a registered account, and run a fast connection on a computer that should be able to run this program easily.

I enter my Email address and password for my account, then enter the Knaax server.

That takes me to a screen where there is a quit button, 4 slots of which the top one says \"Create new character\". But at the top it says \"waiting on server data\". I retried leaving it there for 20 minutes or more, and I can\'t click on the create new character. It just stays like that forever. It\'s really frustrating... please help asap. (Greatly appreciated)

Hmm... if you were able to get to the Character Select screen, it means you\'ve already successfully connected to the server. The only explaination I can come up with is that the server went Linkdead (server crashed) immediately after you logged in, thus you lost the link to the server and it wouldn\'t let you continue.

Try re-logging in whenever Laanx server doesn\'t say \"Fail\".

This effect occasionally happens to me as well. It is my impression that the reason is that the server didn\'t get the request from the client for whatever reasons, and that the client doesn\'t bother to re-send it. Usually it happens when the server is heavily loaded (i.e., ping times are > 2 sec, so it probably dropped a packet or two). I simply quit and re-login in these cases.

Thanks for the replies, nice to know I\'m not the only one with that message, but I recently made another discovery, when I quickly retry logging in after I quit because that message of \"Waiting on server data\" is everlasting, it says that account is already login, please try again in 30 seconds.

I really don\'t understand what it all means, and so far I\'ve retried dozens of times, and I get the same message over and over. It just frustrates me that it\'s just that little error that\'s keeping me from playing the game - more help is greatly appreciated!!

EDIT: I only ever try logging in when I get a ping..
