Dwarven Guild
« on: January 27, 2005, 10:51:50 am »
Im starting a new guild for dwarf characters one of the reasons im restricting race is for rp issues its like a society withen their culture or something like that, and another is for conformity cus i mean what could be cooler than an army of dwarves charging into battle?

here are the mainguidelines for guild( guidelines i mean general there  will be exeptions to all except for #1):

1) Dwarfs only*

2) trying to stick with dwarf style weaponry: axes, hammers(when implemented) , and fists.

3) Smithing and mining should be main skills(besides combat)

4) Every dwarf knows how to fight so at least basic combat skills will be required.(this includes spell craft)

5) though i know the idea of dwarven wizards may seem odd magic is allowed just not necessarily encouraged however if u can effectively roleplay as such then you are free to be a dwarven wizard

those are just the basic ideas behind the guild

the main reasons i posted were to spread the word and toget some help on a name iv been playing with a variety of them and am thinking of somthing like:

Dwarves of the Pick and Hammer
Dwarves of the Hammer
Dwarven warriors

please feel free to contribute an ideas on the name or just the guild in general .

thankyou,

Tarach

cool

name suggestions:

Grungni\'s chosen
Bugman rangers
Karaz A Karak Hammerers
Gromril Diggers (Gromril being a dwarven word for Mithril, we could make it Platinum in PS)
Grudge Bringers
Ironbeards

then we could implement different classes amongst warriors say:

Runners
Tunnelfighters
Ubbernaut Slayers
Tefusang Slayers
;)Kran Slayers
;) Diaboli Slayers
;) Ekidukai Slayers
;) Ynwnn Slayer
etc, etc

Dwarfs hold grudges easily so depending on what character from what race has insulted a perticular dwarf he could become a member of one of the above untill he\'s got his vengeance, for that time he cannot do anything else then to satisfie his need for revenge.

Then off course we need our own Masters and apprentices.

Master merchants
Master smith
Master miners
Master armourers
Master Alchemists
etc.

The magis users could be united in Rune masters, Lore masters, each group concentrating on different spell groups.

And off course not to forget the most important thing our own brewery

We need to set up a Guild training program where the Veterans guide the young and reckless through the perils of the PS world.

They can climb up the guild ladder and gain status by quests given by a Elder counsil to prove their prowes and bravoury in battle or cunning and wit on other trades.

Things like trade as much in a week as possible for apprentice merchants, Go and slay an Ubbernaut, bring 30 tefusang teeth, mine 10 ore of gold and platinum.

And every member has to contribute being items wich can be borrowed for a time to complete a quest, knowledge sharing everything for the common goal of the superior Dwarves becoming the Rulers of  the world............................................... :)

sorry, got carried away there.

But yeah great idea, count me in

lol what about getting an original idea? really just to copy something from another game like Warcraft or in this case Warhammer is really... sorry to say it but  just plain stupid..... try using your brain and get an original idea ok?

well excuse me for being stupid and not using my brain lately but these were just the first things to spring to mind. I understand they are not very original and it was just to give some suggestions as to what kind of dwarf names could be suitable or what to think off when making one up.

sorry to wake you up but there\'s no original fantasy it\'s all derived from somewhere blending different things and influences to a new original. from the sumerian epic of Gilgamesh, the greek mythology of Jason and the argonauts, Norse, Celtic, Arabian mythologie and stories, Arthurian legend, etc etc all the way up to Conan. If you look at all of those you see the same basics. And I understand it\'s hard to keep originality but it\'s not easy making up the names from scratch.

that\'s all i say on you\'re reply my brain just got tired ;)

wait it wakened up again Maleficus derived from Malefica something to do with Wica and demons ;) ;)

Well well.... you see I said that it was stupid to take names from other games and well I have never said you were stupid now did I? and I am aware that it was just suggestions but I want to make clear that you should try and think of a new name something unique :)
And well it is a guild name not a new game you are making, so please spare me of the gilgamesh and so on talk....

and Maleficus is latin and means evil, so it is not a copy

besides it is your choice after all.... oh yeah and good luck with the guild... whoever it is that is creating it ;)

wow thanks for the ideas Gilibran but we will hav 2 try and work out atleast semi-original names tho...

also ive actually considered something similar to slayer system before we should go over it...

also 1 rank should be berserker dwarfs(can t use defensive stances:) )

and consider *weaponmasters* ie axemaster, hammermaster, fist master, etc.

oh btw im thinking guildmaster should be called thane...

wht you think?

P.S.

thanks all for advice/ support(spread the word to ANY dwarfs as noobs are all to allowed plz &ty)

PM me for guild admittance requests

Outline YAY!
« Reply #12 on: January 28, 2005, 07:32:06 am »
here is another BASIC outline this time of ranking system

in order to advance ranks u will have to acquire enough guild points from alredy highly ranked palyers to advance...heres the catch once u get enough say 25ish for lvl 2 u advance a rank and then have your points reset to zero:)

*Edit*challenge system REMOVED

P.S. hope this answers ur question firro;)
