I would like to know...
« on: January 27, 2005, 02:34:18 pm »
Ok like the subject says, and this is very wierd
i can get the game to run perfectly in my office wich is very strange cuz i\'m under a firewall the size of Fort Knox and i still can play, but, tha\'s not my problem;
my problem is that i can\'t get it to work at my house.
I admit that i stopped trying and got tired of it not workin\' but i found out that with the new update the game was running a little more smoothly than before and decided to give it another shot, so i started it on my office and it worked so i thought \"i\'m gonna give it a try at home\" so i got home, reinstalled it and after waitin\' for the update to complete, i ran the game, logged on and when it was loading the world it crashed and gave me the damn missing \"dbglhelp\" file notice and then proceed to kill it with task manager.

I would like to know why, in my office that im under a firewall it works and in my house that im not, it does\'nt work.

Please Help Me! :)

Search the forums for the answer to the missing file problem.

In answer to your question: Every system is different. :)

Thanx

I don\'t know of a solution. If one hasn\'t been posted, you\'ll have to wait untill someone figures out the problem. :)

Have you scanned your home PC for spywares/viruses recently? You\'ll not belive how many games get crashed by those nastyes, and since firewalls give some (very small) protection agains such things, it\'s expected to get the full list of problems on your home PC and less bugs on the office PC (even with the same infections on both)

Hope this gives you a clue ;)

P.S. You could also try different settings in PlaneShift Setup (disabling fullscreen and sound helped me a lot )
