Bug Exploitation
« on: January 28, 2005, 03:15:03 am »
Ok. I\'m in the dungen, at the top of the circular stars there is a monster in the corner (thug I think). Every few kills it has a sword (and some money it says you get but don\'t) you can take. Many are starting to realize this and fight for this kill. While there, a player accuses us of being bug exploiters.

I didn\'t even know this was a bug! Now that I know, I don\'t plan to \'exploit\' it again. It\'s bad enought that a monster that kills you with a sword (Rogue) does not have one for you to take after you finally kill him but that is not my point.

If this sword giving monster really is a bug, can\'t it just be removed and replaced with a copy of one that doesn\'t? Sounds like it would be a simple fix. Or maybe just remove it completly. The loss of balance that it creates is worse than before the mining issue was addressed.

I\'m tired of the Power Leveler groups taking over in what was a nice community and something like this just gives them even more while all the honest players get less.

I know the devs are very busy with high priority issues to resolve but a little thing like this can sure cause big problems.
When confronted by a difficult problem, you can solve it more easily
by reducing it to the question, \"How would The Hulk handle this?\"

The bug isn\'t the loot, the bug is that the monster should fight back and kill you, making the loot worthy your surviving efforts

Ok. That makes more sense now. Still, the inbalance is a drag. I\'m glad there will be a wipe and all the PLs will have waisted their time. Just don\'t wipe till all the advantages are fixed. Meanwhile, I have more time to try to figure things out. :)

So when you all say wipe do you mean remove all characters and have them remigrate/recreate or restore all characters to their original creation status?
