Linux issues!
« on: January 29, 2005, 10:30:12 pm »
Hello all

Well oka, i like the game, but there seems to be a lot of issues, perhaps there are fixes for some, but i did not manage to find them.. so here it is..

First my PC..
Dual PIII @ 800mhz  //  385mb RAM  // ATi Radeon 7200
Kernel:  2.6.4-52-smp  // distro: Suse 9.1

I have more or less all of the dependencie libraries required by planeshift up-to-date.

Issues:
1. If i\'m not in fullscreen the client crashes once i click OK on connection window..
2. If in fullscreen all is ok, it fetches the nick of my character, but when i click join it crashes with seg fault..
3. Wierd but working \"solution\" is
   - first click on create new char
   - then back
   - then select my char and click join..... (fonts are mucked up once u go back to the char selection window).
4. Couple of times i get the loading. bla bla all is loaded but then it just stands there.. - solution.. kill X server :/...
5. i can\'t quit the game, if i press quit then yes, nothing happens, so again, i\'m forced to kill the X.

So I ask you, can i fix the issue with fullscreen, i\'d really like to play windowed sometimes cuz i need it like that...

Tnx alot for the game, it\'s really looking nice..

Edited for language.

Small question, how much swap space is there?
Preferably Used/Total for both Ram and Swap information.
I like taking things literally, going overboard is fun! Now... why do I keep getting odd looks?

It works for me at similar ram resources. But your gfx card is more dodgy - do you have good working drivers?
Are you using a binary or did you compile from cvs (if so when)?
