The same thing happened to me as Ayla.  I had the current version from this morning.  I ran the updater, and it fetched and installed a new updater.  Then it tried doing it again.  But after it had fetched it, when it went to install the updater, it would just close instead of running the dos prompts like normal.  No error messages.  I tried adding tinyxml.dll and adding the line to my pssetup.cfg.  It did the same thing.  So next I tried to update by unzipping the updater.zip into my root folder, and that didnt work either.  That just made it worse because now I have an \"
WARNING! Suspicious: object with tag \'iVFS\' does not implement interface \'iVFS\'!
Error loading Graphics2D plugin.\"
error.  So now im probably going to reinstall to see if I can get back where I was before I seemed to make the problem worse.

Note: I\'m running Win2k.

Okay, so Im guessing a good thing to do would be not to download updater.zip. ^_^ Thank you.

DO not bother unistalling and reinstalling!

it will be of no use, there is a problem with the new updater that is downloaded... until they get the new one ready there is no reason to uninstall/reinstall ... just leave it alone until they get things fixed

:D

OK... I just updated the updater and when it tries to launch the new one it says it cannot run because MSVCP71D.dll is missing.

What does this mean?

EDIT: sorry. i didnt read all the new posts before posting. \"^_^\"

Same situation here.

With or without the missing line & dll.

Then the error window with:

UPDATER caused an invalid page fault in

But I had to explode the zip file manually and may have a file out of place.

Oh, and I did check for the above/original problem.

A NEW PROBLEM:  having copied mike\'s xmltiny.dll i ran the updater and got an error: couldn\'t find the dynamic link library MSVCP71D.DLL.

as i said it doesnt fix for everyone, i think it\'s only Sabrewulf that can get in so far. it\'s been attempted a fix by acraig Feran and a few other smart guys, no avail we have to wait for Talad to come back and rebuild an updater tommorow, please be patient

After finaly figuring out how to get the file open (I\'m not a programer so I didn\'t already know), I found the line:

System.Plugins.iDocumentSystem = crystalspace.documentsystem.xmlread

Do I need to replace the .xmlread with the .xmltiny?

Edit: OR do I add the entire line:

System.Plugins.iDocumentSystem =
crystalspace.documentsystem.xmltiny   ?

This is the dev debug version of MSVCP71.DLL, and should *NOT* be required for public release builds. Somebody forget to set the right flags or something, and either clobbered the release build or posted the debug one instead.

Will there be an announcement of some form when this is fixed, and if so, where should we look for it?

MSVCP71D.dll is the Debug version of the MSVCP17.dll It seems that when the latest updater was put on the web it was using the debug library instead of the standard library It sould be pretty easy for them to rebuild the file as a releace instead of a debug.  And get that up to the website.  Just a case of beign tired when the programing was finished I would imagine.  The Devs have been doing alot of work.
