Illegal Operation while opening client/updater/setup
« on: February 05, 2005, 03:58:10 am »
ok so I got PS to run totally fine on my desktop PC, but when I downloaded the client onto my laptop, I get an illegal operation error whenever I try opening the client, the setup, or the updater.  Anyone have a clue why this could be happening?  Im running windows XP Pro, pentium III, 900mhz, 256 mb, service pack 1 installed.  If anymore info required let me know.

You need a graphics card with OpenGL support. Any decently new card will have this, as long as you have the latest drivers for it.

Another thing I\'d point out is that you have a rather small amount of RAM, which may cause several problems for you (but I doubt it\'s causing these crashes).

It shouldn\'t be the RAM crashing in. I can run PS with 256 RAM...it runs, but not that good as one can guess. :P It probably is the video card...

Wait...did you just find out it wasn\'t OpenGL, or are you just assuming? You should really find out first, if you haven\'t.
