USE. AUTO. MODE.
« Reply #31 on: February 15, 2005, 07:57:34 pm »
It has been said so many times, and I will say it once more: the -auto switch is currrently the only way to get the updater to not crash.

Edit: Kaseijins post on your thread wasn\'t an invitation to post here, but to READ here!

first of all its 1337 not l33t

secondly as several people have already mentioned using the
--auto trick is what you need to do...(search the forums)

now advice

make sure theres a space in front of --auto or it wont work...

hope this solves your problem

regards

-tarach

*Edit: as to the post below...in the NEW  1337 speak it is 1337 and if your just screwing around this really is what you should use...l33t is the original what the old school hackers used to communicate without getting caught respect the past and dont make jokes with the actual thing...(im not usually like this but 1337 speak in general annoys the crap out of me especially if people arent using it for a pupose)

ARE YOU GUYS LISTENING?!?! I have used the --auto thing about 50 times, everytime its the same thing. The automatic starts up and loads to onehundred, once it has done that, it goes to the official updater and the process starts over again. If you don\'t know what im talking about, read the first post. I get the error message when i try to copy the files from the updatertemp into the parent directory. So please, try and keep up

ugh.... sorry guys... im such an idiot... makes me wonder if I can even think for myself sometimes. Sorry for over reacting, ive fixed my problem. First you have to copy all the files from the updatertemp into the parent directory, then do the --auto. Something so simple confused the hell out of me. Sorry for being a jack ass, see you in game. Flame the hell out of me if you like for being so stupid...

no l33t skillz
« Reply #36 on: February 16, 2005, 08:13:39 am »
Tarachnul you are greatly misinformed about the l33t, if you knew anything about it you would know that the number one, stoof for the letter \"l\" and that the letter \"t\" could be replaced for the number seven. So it can be pronounced either way. in fact the official correct spelling is leet, which stands for elite, hence the term \"f34r my l33t skillz\"

Now I don\'t talk like this often, but at least I know what what all the other people that talk in l33t are saying.

Man... it\'s like learning another language

ubermonkeyspoon: Do not abuse the Report feature. And quit with the \"l33t\", it makes you look stupid.

i didn\'t mean to press the report button, i wasn\'t paying attention when I pressed it. My bad, im sorry. And as for my \"l33t skillz\" i believe that is something i have the right to practice, is it not?

I never said its not annoying, im just kidding. But a bit off topic, should I make a \"how to\" topic for the people having the same problem as me?

heres wat u do
« Reply #42 on: February 17, 2005, 04:19:10 pm »
ok heres what you do.

1. go to your planeshift crystal blue folder.
2. inside there you will find a folder that says updatertemp. go into that folder.
3. click on an empty space in the bottom left of your folder( white part) then hold and hightlight all of yor files in that folder.
4. right click and select copy.
5. go back to your planeshift folder. right click and select paste. a screen should come up. select \"yes to all\".
6. now click on the start icon and select run.
7.use browse to find your updater.exe file.
8. put in a space then --auto. if you put your planeshift folder into program files your run url thing should read something like this. \"\"C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue\\updater.exe\" --auto\".
9.it will take a while to update.

NOTE!!!!! this is for windows users only!
