Updater before game launch?

Just an idea for the dev\'s (I\'ve searched and couldn\'t find anything related to this idea)... why not have the updater launch when you click on the main application? That way, everyone stays up to date. Just an idea, no flaming please

This might belong in the wish list forum, but I think at least when the client is out of date that it should run the updater.

Usually I only update when I have to or when I hear that I should.  Otherwise it\'s asking for trouble

The updater is fine how it is.

That would be good. Always too anxious to get into the game, to remember to run the updater and that stabs you into face right before connecting...grrr...

I\'ve seen this in Ragnarok Online, and have to admit - it helps.

I personally think the best idea would be an \'Auto-Update\' choice in pssetup.

Yes if your lazy. Really how hard is it to update?

All you need to do is press update thats all. It\'s really that easy.

Just out of curiosity... What would you prefer, a pencil with eraser on the other end, or separately a pencil and eraser?

There is a launch planeshift button on the updater.... you can just delete the PlaneShift shortcut and rename the updater shortcut \"PlaneShift\" and you\'ve got exactly what you\'re talking about.

right click on main application icon properties and change the url !!! youll see blahblahblah\\psclient.exe change it into updater.exe

and tada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All is working fine ! so why posting here...

When the game becomes more stable I believe this will be a great idea, but for now there have been cases were the clients that didn\'t update being able to play the game while those that did updater couldn\'t play  the game simply because the client was newer then the server.

True, I didn\'t think of that one. However, it would be a nice thing to have once it\'s all stable etc. etc.

you can just use a script that runs updater --auto and then planeshift cant you?

As i said. You would only need that if your lazy. It\'s fine how it is.
