Same here, even the fixed updater from Talad doesn\'t fix it. I reinstalled planeshift after Talad said the updater was fixed, then used the updater. First the updater updater itself to the new version, then it updated the game to the latest version. After it was finished, I wanted to ping the server. I launched the updater again and got the same error as you have.

I\'m getting the same problem: I think the new updater has some problem either with our computers, or our OS type. I have XP home edition, here is my DXDIAG:
What in the world could be the problem? My computer gives me an \"error\" message, do you want to report it to Microsoft, ect, ect. Well... the new \"updater\" seems to have bitten the dust this time.

same updater and client crashes Im not sure but I think it crash when you ask for fullscreen mode and then the error stays

ERRATA : updater crashes and client crashes for another reason... in fact I dont advice you to install the openal driver from Creative labs... it\'s really a ... thing! but full screen run indeed!

Same here, the new updater version crashes. I use winXP sp1. What windows version do the devs thest the code on?

[edited] I got the fix. Go make a shortcut on dextop of the updater, then rightclick, properties and add --auto at the end of the text in target field.

mh I extracted all files from the updater.zip into the PS dir, replacing the existing ones, now the updater seems to run fine again, although it keeps on finding the updater.txt each time I check for updates. Hope this is supposed to be like that and not a bug again.

Though, others seem to have more serious problems with the updater.

I thought the Devs used Linux to code it, oh well.  I have the same problem though, XP Home SP2.  Everything is updated too, maybe it\'s a Direct X 9.0c problem?
