Well, 32 bit or 64 bit, hasn\'t anything to do with crashing.
We're not evil. We're simply amazing.

Try to start pssetup.exe and look if the sound otions are viable for your system. If in doubt deactivate sound. Recheck the other options, too. Then try again to start the updater. The updater dies with wrong sound option in graphical mode. Dont know if that applies to you cause yours dies in auto, too.

If you happen to have Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.4.2 or later (obtainable from java.sun.com), you can try this updater (as I\'ve mentioned in the past): Updater.jar (29k)

There has been an update to the client as of yesterday (07:23), so you can use the linked unofficial (and unrelated to the PS team) updater to fix the broken one. Just remember that if you do use the linked updater I\'m not liable for any negative results (I gotta say that for legal reasons ;) ). The alternative is to wait for an update to download from the main site and DL the whole thing again.

just look in the psclient.txt or updater.txt or whatever since every single lines in the console is redirected there

Or you could just use the whole --auto option.

Sorry, for my bad enghish

That doesn\'t work everyone as demonstrated by the above quote. If it did, I wouldn\'t have wasted the time posting that link. ;)

To Gronomist and Moogie:

Your posts did absolutely NOTHING to help our situation.  Why did you even post?  All the people helped, but you 2 are the only ones that came off bitchy.  Maybe I\'m the only one who felt your posts were completely pointless, but I don\'t really care.  Sure, you may have more posts than everyone, but maybe you should try to not come off so bitchy when someone has a problem.

I would like to thank everyone else, though, it works now :)

When you\'ve been helping people for as many years as we have, you too will get tired of people who expect immediate answers when they give absolutely no useful information to go on.

Well, I posted what I could, and that\'s it.  I knew nothing else.  Not once did I say to answer me now though.  I understand that you have been doing this for years, but nobody makes you.  Sorry if my post was, not nice, I was just venting from some other things as well.  That just kind of ticked me off...

It\'s okay, my original post wasn\'t in response to you anyway. :) It was to Ghosts|Jestal, who doubleposted to say:

Do ANY of you guys even bother helping people?

...which is sheer ignorance, and very rude if he expects any help at all.

Run it from the command line like so:
cd to its directory
type \"java -jar Updater.jar nogui\"

You\'ll only get a few console output messages, but it should run faster.

10x Cha0s, your unofficial updater works very well, but  this tool did not resolve the problem :(
If you can have (make) a little program, like this \"unofficial updater\", that run the and deactivate the sound for as will be asome. Maybe will works without sound.

Like you will see in the text display below, the PlaneShift waz run very well before ====== Thu Feb 03 15:55:57 2005, but 4 days later (====== Mon Feb 07 15:40:24 2005) the game refuze to run. In weekend 4,5,6 Feb 2005, CB waz update with a new soft that doesn\'t work for everyone.
According error of the PlansShift Updater we can blame \'iWin32Assistant\':

and if someone know how to disable Win32Assistant, please tell me!
 psclient.exe show another error:
