Updater - Not win32 file
« on: February 07, 2005, 06:41:26 pm »
Hi

When i\'m running the updater it says that there is another version of the updater to install...

It downloads it, and then there is a message that says that it\'s not a valid win32 file (or something like that)

I can\'t seem to find the temp updater file to manually extract it...

Can anyone help me out???

thx :P

It sounds like there is something wrong with the update files on the server. updater.zip seems to have been extracted successfully but the files in it don\'t work. Check if there is sufficient diskspace available on the PS disk, but otherwise you should just wait a couple of days, until new update files arrive.

that problem seems to have been resolved....

now the problem is that when i update, if i run the update again it always updates files... (5 in a row) and the size of the download is always the same 27,...MB

is this a bug?
is the update like a package (updates all files, always) or it updates individual files, i.e. if the file is already updated it\'s not downloaded..??

help...

No, update is one regstration file (not sure the name) and it\'s something about 800KB. Nothing more downloads if you have everything up to date, so your updater is still buggy. Try redownloading your PlaneShift, then if you are absolutely sure that your computer is virus free you can install Planeshift again and start updater.
